how do you make slavery non pc????
i've read the memoirs since watching the movie
it's a very accurate representation of solomon northup's story
The whole thing was white bashing from start to finish. They never make films about Islamic slavery which started in Africa before white's started up and went on long after abolition in the west, still there today in fact. I think the biggest sickener in a recent film was in Lincoln where he is depicted talking to black soldiers, Lincoln was as big a racist as anyone.
Do you think it was an unfair representation of slave owners?
I do as it's looking back and making judgements from today's morality. They always have southerners depicted as harsh slave owning bastards, they were not all like that. Many had slaves in the North not long before 12 years story, 4 of the first 5 US presidents were slave owners including Washington and Jefferson who had hundreds, you never see that in these bleeding heart films though, it's always those evil southern rebs.
