String Theory, anyone?
The Elegant Universe - PBS
(not a download but enjoyable enough)
Good thread idea, BTW
^ yep, I got that one about 4 or 5 years ago, you could download it directly from their website. Great series.

There's lots of good cooking torrents here.
I've been recommended that movie before so I'm downloading it right now while I remember it.Originally Posted by ChiangMai noon
Take the oppurtunity to dl it now, I can probably give you some good "local speed" on it. There is a fast singaporean node (slimmie ?) as well.
hey lom, please post your thoughts on this film, I'm cusious what the cats on TD think of it!
Like I said I really enjoyed it, & when I said:

This documentary was about a girl the filmmaker knew personally, so I think it's OK he put in his own perspectives & thoughts. There is a fine line that a filmmaker can cross when he develops a genuine care/concern for his subject & I honestly think Jordan Clark (the director) was pretty balanced all things considering!
Just my $.02!

I'm getting incredibly slow download rates on this movie.
There are only 4 seeds and 4 peers.
As low as 2kbp/s.
Will be lucky to have it downloaded in the next week.
^ 2 seeders whereof I am one , as far as my client shows. 9 peers downloading from me right now, but no Thai IP..
That's a bit shit.
I always thought you had to register to a torrent site before downloading.
I have registered with a couple, but obviously not because I didn't register, clicked download and it started.
Why register with a site if that's the case?
Is it so you can make comments and use the forums?
I've never registered w/ a torrent site before. That just seems like another reason to get spam e-mail!
Some sites requires registering, so they can keep track of your ul/dl ratio, other sites doesn't care.Originally Posted by ChiangMai noon
Yes, that is two reasons.Originally Posted by ChiangMai noon

it's a pity that father ted has reduced to a crawl though.
I just finished watching it (got very good d/l speeds).
Pretty good film with a sad finish. The 5-year "International School" teacher was a right cvnt - the sort you want to kick sh1t out of if you met them (preferebly in a dark alley while they were totally pissed and incapable - I'm no hero).
Perhaps somebody knows him?
I actually think I do.Originally Posted by RDN

I've watched it and thought it was good.
The sadness in the narrator's voice was far more convincing after seeing the end of the movie.
My heart was in my mouth when I heard that awful news.
And yes, I'm absolutely convinced it was Warren though a few years have passed since I last saw him. What a kunt, I hope he is embarrased.
Might put his pics on the teachers forum.
So what is the dealio with these download/torrent thingies anyways (please forgive the overly technical jargon)?
I used to use Limewire a lot, even got the 'Pro' version but lately it seems harder and harder to locate anything of any value - download speeds were ok though, usually around 2hrs for a movie.
Anyways I downloaded that uTorrent thing but I ran the speed test thingymajig and it said that I'd need to do port-forwarding to increase my d/l speed. However unless port-forwarding is conducted by a process similar to re-boring and honing cyclinders on a Hemi V8 then I really don't have the first clue how to do it. I'm confused, is it even worth the effort or just stick with Limewire and hope things like Borat turn up 'on' there eventually?
forget limewire.
torrents are the bollux Ant.
I'll try to locate the explanation linky thing that the clever people gave me to set it up.
I use Azureus as my torrent client by the way.
