Success on both tips! Thank you FailSafe and Bobcock! I tend to use GOM player over VLC, don't know which is better, or if they are comparable.
This is the movie: Mindfulness and Murder.
It didn't get a great rating on IMDB, but I've been wanting to check it out...
I am dloading the torrent, but it's taking wayyyy too long

I just watched Cypher. It was okay, mainly because I like Lucy Liu. The ending was pretty predictable because there was no other possible ending, so from half way onwards it became a bit boring... 7/10 if I'm being kind.

The Event
not as bad as I expected,
They've remade The Philadelphia Experiment (they being the Syfy channel), which was an interesting premise mired by incredibly shit acting. I'll give it a shot to see if they've improved it.
Added: It's set in the present, but they've added a twist or two....
Nope, scratch that, gobshite.
What happened to Falling Skies SO2EO8 ? No download on EZTV. Googled it can't find it either.
Dunno but it isn't on kickasstorrents or thepiratebay either.
It doesn't broadcast until August 5th
Try googling "Falling Skies (or whatever) Episode Guide". They often skip a week for some reason or other (The Pomegranate SuperDuper Bowl, Pocahontas' Birthday, Mitt Romney stringing a coherent sentence together, for example).

Episode 8
8/5/12
En route to Charleston, the 2nd Mass continues to grieve for the group's recent losses. Matt bonds with a new harnessed girl and Weaver learns more about Tector's history.
Falling skies is on a break, as is Masterchef and Kitchen Nightmares.
Things are looking bleak for the next week or so.
I might even have to talk to the missus soon if no decent downloads pop up!
Lol, those are the three I'm waiting for.:)Quote:

A telling social commentary on greed, consumption, a crippled economy, propaganda and the growing schisms between the rich and poor. As relevant as ever.

Watched in bed last night. Not too bad.

Sean Bean is decent as a British Security Agent hunting down a British terror cell. I wasn't expecting much from this, but, it's good.
Nicely shot in London, decent pace quite violent at times. Definitely worth a watch. It didn't get the best score on imdb I'd give it a 7/10 though. Some good performances. Charlotte Rampling is good as Beans handler too. All the performances were quite good as it goes.

I know the US version of 'Shameless' has taken a couple of hits on this thread (mostly from people who haven't given it a chance) but I'm nine episodes into season one and I think it's terrific, with great acting by the entire cast, especially the always entertaining William H. Macy- it has an 8.6 rating on IMDb, which usually gives very reliable reviews.
I haven't seen the UK version so I can't make a comparison.
I saw it was coming out, didn't know Macy was in it. I'll give it a go based on that. The English version (first two or three series at least) was very good. Some of the criticism will be snobbery, some will be based on "Life on Mars" remake not being as good as the original.
Will post again after I've watched an episode.
cheers.
The hits were completely deserved.
The US version of Shameless is just word for word a copy of the English version. The dialogue is 98% the same, very lazy filmmaking imo. The only reason I see for actually making an American version is that perhaps the Yanks might have trouble understanding a thick Manc accent.
Do yourself a favour and watch the first few seasons of the original series and then you'll understand where the bashing comes from.
^
Did you watch a season or just an episode?
I plan to watch he UK version eventually- I've read a few articles that compare them, and apparently the US and UK Verizon's start to diverge near the end of season one (fewer characters leave in the US version and there are more episodes per season, i.e.)- either way I've been enjoying it.
^Watched about 8 episodes of season 1 untill I gave up.
I thought it was inferior to the original in all aspects and I very much doubt I'll ever try watching it again.
But I'm glad you're enjoying it.:)
Based on your review, I DL'ed it and watched it. Wasted a good hour of my life. Piss poor acting, boring storyline, and worst of all crap music.
Toward the end it became another wild west flick, where Indians are chasing cowboys.
My recommendation would be to avoid this movie, even if you are remotely interested just for the bikes. It ain't worth the time.
^ it's a fucking classic movie, you either get it or you don't, very hard to catch the essence of it
^
That's probably it- I like mainstream British comedies like Fawlty Towers and the Blackadder series (and newer stuff like The IT Crowd), but some of it just doesn't translate well- it's the same with dramas- Americans can identify more with white trash than chavs.;)
I'll check out the UK version next.
