I'm sorry, but I'm hopelessly stuck in the 60's when it comes to music. One of my favorite albums is the Time/Life collection "Senior Prom". Ms. B practically barfs every time I play it and has meticulously excluded it from appearing in her iTunes Library....

Right now I'm searching for some Lovin' Spoonful albums.

    Dont fear the Reaper.

Thanks for giving me an excuse to write that. And when you are done, also get everything by
    Van der Graaf Generator.

I think I am going to up grade to 1mb if you say it's worthwhile.
I was getting 40kBytes/sec maximum when downloading torrents with loads of seeds - stuff like "Best Collection Ever [30 Albums]" or "Full Santana Albums". If you get just a couple of seeds on a high speed link your download rate goes through the roof.

But now I've doubled my speed to 1 Mbps, I'm getting easily 40 kB/s download and right now it's between 45 and 65 kB/s. I've had to turn off the "Play a sound" and "Pop up an alert" when a file is finished because it's too damn annoying!!

For 225 baht a month extra, I think it's worth it.

Me too - 63 - 69 is my "era". I've downloaded loads of "Decades - 50's, 60's 70's" type torrents. "Decades" or "collection" are good words to search for, if you want top 20 hits.

And there are loads of Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, Santana, Moody Blues, Jimi Hendrix albums out there. But the one I really wanted - and got - was "The Rolling Stones - Singles Collection (The London Years)". It's 3 CDs worth of all their singles, A and B sides. Brilliant.

This is fun. While searching for Lovin' Spoonful I came across a torrent for Rolling Stones' 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. It's 2.8 GB of MP3's. I started it last night using Xtorrent, but this morning only 10 MB had been downloaded and the software announced it would be done in late August of next year.

I switched to Azureus and am getting about 25 kB download speed and a prediction of some time tomorrow.

I wonder why some clients are so much more efficient than others? Or could it have just been the time of day?

Azureus is working very well for me, certainly quicker than utorrent ever was.
Might upgrade to the 1mb connection this month.
I'm quite jealous of RDN's download rates.

I've just started downloading the complete sopranos season 6, about 4.75 GB.
It's times like this that I need a bigger connection speed.

Actually, bigger is more precise. The electrons travel at the same speed no matter how "fast" your connection is. When people say "faster" connection they mean bigger bandwidth. Same speed, just more data per unit of time.

ok so you can be a physics consultant.

but i dont think most people would describe a speed as bigger or smaller

I've given up on downloading the series in bulk.
Not enough seeds and the transfer rate was very slow.

Instead I'm downloading the episodes individually.
Much better, about 30 kb/s, around 5 hours per show.
Have the first 4 and currently downloading number 5.
Should have them all by tomorrow erening.

How do I convert them into a format i can watch on my DVD player?
