Murdoch is a fucking evil bastard. I really hope the lawsuits get up and he loses everything - and before he croaks it.

Oh he'll have plenty salted away that nobody will get their hands on whatever happens - jerry should be more worried about that than the lawsuits.

Greatest events of WWII in Colour is fantastic.

Focusing more on the lead up to each battle (one battle, one episode) more than just the battle and the outcome which most people would be familiar with anyway.

    Well well.

I caught episode 2/8 of Michael Palins Pole to Pole on terrestrial . Its the Russian episode and i'd forgotten how much life behind the curtain has moved on. I travelled there in 94', austere but lovely people. I want to go back and will once i retire. The episode and whole series is a lovely reference point in time of observations by Palin and he is fantastic in it. Nothing more to say, except i have the whole series on DVD along with his other series and will now give it a whirl.....again

Any budding Sinologists here? I found this pretty interesting and informative-

The Story of China's Reform and Opening-Up - China goes global

The Story of China's Reform and Opening-Up, a five-episode documentary directed by a British historian, aired on the BBC and on China's video platform Tencent, where it became an online hit.

While each episode is just under 15 minutes in length, the documentary covers the history of the initiative, China going global, its scientific and technological development, its environmental challenges and China's future.

Michael Wood, the documentary director and a former BBC presenter, interviewed at least 40 people in the UK, the US and China, hoping to decode the success of those 40 years.

Many social media users found the documentary touching, as it demonstrates the fast and colossal changes China has experienced during those historic years.

The Story of China's Reform and Opening-Up - China goes global - Chinadaily.com.cn

The first episode, all 13.5 minutes of it, is in the link above. Or you can Youtube it, and watch all episodes. Considering it covers what is almost certainly the most important story in modern history, it's worth a gander.
