There are several documentaries about Thailand past and present on youtube if you search Thailand documentary.
This one was rather sad. As whoever said before, youtoob has some rather heartrenching documentaries if you dig deep.
for those interested in art, a good look at Andrew Wyeth's work and environment.

NOVA - Warnings From The Ice 1998

What triggered this frightening shift? And, more importantly- is it about to happen again?
Take a trip to the bitter-cold bottom of the world, a beautiful, unforgiving place where experts are racing against time to probe the Antarctic ice for its secrets.
Miles deep, the frigid expanse holds 70 percent of the worlds fresh water in a deep freeze cold enough to shatter steel.

Great docu.
The Untold History of the United States
The series has been said to be reminiscent of the famed British Thames Television series The World at War (1973–74).With the exception of an on-camera introduction and conclusion by Oliver Stone, the series contains no interview subjects. Instead, each episode consists of archival material: stock film, photographs, video and audio recordings, computer generated maps and diagrams, clips from fictional movies, and Stone's voiceover narration. Historical quotations and writings from various figures are read by actors.
Good download from Kickass torrents.
I just watched The Cove. Jaysus I wish those slanty eyed barbaric shits would get another tsunami right up their jacksies.
I can't watch it. But I heard they spear dolphins, then hammer in a wooden bung so they won't bleed out into the water. Yet still the water is as red as we've all seen in photos. Sheeeeit !
It's about how they smuggled hydrophones and HD cameras at night past the security thugs, so they could capture what they actually do on camera.
Some Nip fisheries bloke was banging on about how they use humane methods to kill them instantly. Then they showed him the video. All he could say was "Where and when did you get that video!".
I hope they all die of radiation and mercury poisoning, that would be justice.
And yet a country most consider backward is the one leading the way:

Inequality For All is now available in the torrents. Not too many new ideas in it but it does address the issue and it is a documentary on Robert Reich as much as inequality. It's quite similar in style to Al Gore's documentary with Reich narrating and going into his own life experiences in relation to how he came to think as he does today.

The World According to Monsanto (2008)
A docu that exposes and shows how evil Monsanto is and the roots of how far back Monsanto goes in basically killing people.

I recommend the BBS Documentary which goes over early bulletin boards run by individuals. You might remember them from the 80s when you had to call a certain number to dial into them. It's a pretty cool set of documentaries with interviewers of all the big names involved in that quite little event of the past. You can find most of the documentaries at youtube or download the whole set from Kickass torrents. It's litterally hours and hours of these geeks telling how they got into it and the various aspects of it developed and changed. Basically it was what people did prior to today's Internet. Some aspects of it still are in use today. It's quite enlightening and I feel says a lot about this bulletin board, Teakdoor, in my opinion. You'll hear of the arguements and flaming and all the rest of it to get compromise to work things out. If you find these forums interesting you'll see where it all started in this series. It's quite a collection of parts so don't expect a 2-3 hour documentary here.
BBS: The Documentary - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wikipedia notes three disks but if you download from the torrents you should get extra stuff, a lot of shorter clips on various specific topics. Just remember there are three or more parts at the torrents.
