720P, 1080P, 2k or 4k?

What definition media are you watching? Do you notice any difference?

A few years back, I picked up a 2k monitor from Samsung, end of the line, 34", for $150 - I've been really happy with it. Nowadays, I always download 2k if available, and it seems to make a big difference to the viewing experience. The 2k files (about 6GB?) take a good while to download while the 1080Ps (about 1.5GB) are usually pretty quick and the 720ps (300mbs?) download really quickly

Some 1080p is ok, but noticeably lesser, imho.

I find 720p pretty unwatchable nowadays.

Distance from the screen is also an issue. I use the monitor on my desk or sometimes move it to the living room where the sofa is only about 7 feet away from the screen thus 2k works well - a bigger room might benefit from 4k?

Thus, 2k is a great fit for me.

I use an nVidia Shield which does a good job of upscaling 720p if that's all that's available.

I like to be up close and personal with me TVs, never really got the point is sitting way back so half your field of vision is a wall. Though I do now need glasses to see further than 2 meters away, so hopefully that's Edith and not an intruder coming up the hallway.

I typically download movies and TV shows at 1080 or 2160p. If you have a newer TV it can play a x265 format so the files are about 1gb to 1.5gb and they usually DL in about 10 minutes sometimes even faster. Streaming live like I do for all my sports, is almost all 1080p HD from the provider.

We don't use prime, or even know what stan is, but YT and NF both have 4k. Our 4k NF package is less than 500thb per month.
