Very interesting documentary into the Big Apple....

"Deli Man". Centred around the origins of US deli's, and their demise to only a few hundred from the thousands that used to operate. Some interesting characters, and more than a few amusing anecdotes. Thoroughly enjoyed watching it, and having a real pastrami sandwich is now high on my bucket wish list.

Dirty Wars


Jeremy Scahill, the investigative journo who broke the "Blackwater" scandal story looks at the night raids carried out by the (formerly) ultra-covert US military unit JSOC. Involving increasingly-spiralling numbers of civilian deaths in Aghanistan, he uncovers "death-lists" of suspected terrorist targets, including US civilians also.
After the hullaballoo of the supposed assassination of Osama Bin Laden, this JSOC outfit have been given unlimited power and budgets into expanding their theatre of operations into now over 75 countries..
Basically, the "war on terror" is the USA creating perpetual turmoil and war against the rest of the world. This is the premise, anyway. Disturbing.

Watched this last night. It's on kat.

It was interesting to see that there was more to this guy than that thing, but mostly it's hard to resist a feeling of schadenfreude about the demise of someone who had it all.

His insatiable attention seeking and his wife's seemingly endless patience as both her husband's career and her own circle the drain are quite striking.

The energy of the NYC political arena also comes over strongly.

Well worth watching.

Probably mentioned in an earlier post, the snowden story in detail about how the Obama/demorat admin betrayed the American people in sooo many ways. Of course there are always 2 sides to every story if not more, I do understand, but the sheer size of what they were doing!! The viciousness of how the dems went after govt whistleblowers who revealed just what they were doing that was illegal or questionable. And all this after Obama stated in 2007 the very opposite, a mirror image of what Hillary was saying to the wall street bankers, how there was a tv personal and the real person and views.

And on and on, watch it.

2 judges around that area were done for sentencing children to prison for profit. Their mate owned a few private juvenile prisons in the area and were paying cash to the judges for sentencing kids to custodial sentences.

Bladdy heaps of the poor skitters were off to the pokey for completely minor misdemeanors before people realized what was happening.

The judges made about $2m each off it until nabbed and sentenced to prison themselves.

Was that the one where the kids were getting done for things like littering?
If so, it was on a tv documentary here a few months ago.

Enjoyed "The Beatles, Eight Days A Week" last night. Seeing the crowds and hysteria again brought back a few memories of that era (mid '60's).
