Just a little past half way through the first episode looks good.
Here's something which i just noticed on rlslog. Its the Heart of Darkness - A filmmakers Apocalypse. Weird that i recommend this you you even though i haven't watched it myself. I'm currently dl it as we speak. It came out in 1991 so no doubt some of you have had this.
Scene group JETSET released the DVDRip of Hearts Of Darkness A Filmmakers Apocalypse (Won 2 Primetime Emmys. Another 4 wins & 3 nominations), a documentary movie starring Dennis Hopper, Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando, directed by Fax Bahr, George Hickenlooper and Eleanor Coppola. Documentary that chronicles how Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now was plagued by extraordinary script, shooting, budget, and casting problems–nearly destroying the life and career of the celebrated director.
Plot: Documents the sensational events surrounding the making of ‘Apocalypse Now’ and Francis Ford Coppola’s struggle with nature, governments, actors, and self-doubt. Includes footage and sound secretly recorded by Elanor Coppola, wife of Francis.
Think it be a good watch, dont you think?

^This is a fabulous doc and I would highly recommend it. Shows how insane the shooting of one of the best ever movies really was.
Ive just finished watching it and yes, i'm thoroughly enjoyed it. I bought the blu ray of the film which is great to own, but i had no idea that the Khmer temple that was built was really build using blocks of stone.
He really didnt cut corners did he. I'm sure nowadays it would be made of foam.

This was worth a watch. Real 'Boy's Own' stuff.
It's about a Vulcan bombing raid on the Falkland Islands at the beginning of the Falkland's war.

Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. An Aussie does a Juice diet for 60 days while travelling across America. More about life.
Another good one about health from PBS.
I enjoyed all of these. You can find the torrents at Kat, isohunt, piratebay.se
Sorry if I hurt some people here but this video explains a lot of what happen in the late 70's.
I was born in the 60's. These people, shown in this video, our elder brothers and sisters, were so pathetic, such a bunch of fucking losers. Our parents (as we saw them then as teenagers) were no better. It really explains a lot the cynism of the punk movement.
The things we regret most is the things we didn't do
i just watched, and quite liked, When We Were Kings. The Rumble in the Jungle. somethings, some people, really are larger than life...
Don't know if it's been mentioned .. The Blue Planet. It's BluRay and huge, about 30 gigs. The loveliest photography I've even seen on my VGA. If you have the computer specs and a 64-bit system you're in for a treat.
good call. but i'll see you and go all old-school, pre CGI and suggest Carl Sagan's Cosmos.. it's long but worth it. as an added bonus, he trashes astrology...
Niall Ferguson's China: Triumph and Turmoil is now complete.
It's a bit shallow of course, being only a couple hours of TV, but it's an interesting look at China.
I got it at The Box.
Another one...
On December 7th, 2005, federal agents conducted a nationwide sweep of radical environmentalists involved with the Earth Liberation Front — an organization the FBI has called America's "number one domestic terrorism threat."
IF A TREE FALLS: A STORY OF THE EARTH LIBERATION FRONT is the remarkable story of the group's rise and fall, told through the transformation and radicalization of one of its members, Daniel McGowan. Part coming-of-age tale, part cops-and-robbers thriller, the film interweaves a chronicle of McGowan facing life in prison with a dramatic investigation of the events that led to his involvement with the ELF. Using never-before-seen archival footage and intimate interviews — with cell members and with the prosecutor and detective who were chasing them — IF A TREE FALLS asks hard questions about environmentalism, activism, and the way we define terrorism.
The abstract 5 minute intro doesn't exactly adhere it to the audience that needs to hear the message the most, but skip that and stick it out for couple of hours it runs and get an education in social psychology and the detrimental path we humans are taking.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
Just watched this on BBC iplayer some good footage.

Just watched a couple of Werner Herzog docus.

A look into a case of a death row inmate 8 days before he is due to be executed and the triple murder that landed him there.
It doesn't look to offer any defence for the crimes or vilify the kid, chilling and worth a look.
Another on Gene Sharp and the recent revolutions. Not too long but interesting. Basically about using peaceful tactics to overthrow governments. A little about the Karen in Burma, Egypt, Bosnia, Syria, etc.
I downloaded it but it is watchable online supposedly.
