The Jam
The Police
Dexy's
BTW, these are great songs - not shit ones!

I have one of the original session demo tapes somewhere and I must look for it when I go back to Oz. The funny thing is I thought it would be a flop when I first heard it and it turned into a monster. Hope DF doesn't see this post!

I've posted this before, but it is good enough to post again. The Raleigh Burner.
Mortals you defy the Gods, I sentence you to travel among unknown stars, until you find the Kingdom of Hades, your bodies will stay as lifeless as stone.
Bet you'll get this stuck in your head.....
Loy Toys' dad (another old bucket head) used to have a band, and I think that they have got back together...... DEVO. Are we not men and Whip-it come to mind.
For you NR and the Chilli Peppers first big hit at the end of the 80's.
Another remake though
the 80's was when you told your mum you were going to a disco not a dance
Cult 80's films
Here's Annie Lennox doing her Boylady thing in 1984.
And one of my favourite Eurythmics songs and from the 80's.
Renee & Renato were number one for fucking ages. The bloke hailed from St Helens, which is where I went to school. The story was that he was on the dole when he recorded the song and that at the time you were only allowed to earn £4 a week on top of your benefits. He didn't bother to sign off and thats all the record company paid him for having a number one hit, how's that for a bum deal ?
Cheers
Didn't know what this Song was all about until I arrived here and still love it.
I can remember the first time I heard it down in Soi Cowboy with young damsels swinging around chrome poles. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh the memories!
Nothing more to be said...

Peter Gabriel's understudy with not a bad song himself!
And I love his drums on this song!
Oh, no! We haven't mentioned Kajagoogoo. How can we have a shit music of the 80's thread without Limahl?
Here's one for you NR.
Most woman loved this song and most blokes (including me) hated it.
Another one of those songs that spun around in your head until you had to go home from work early sick.
Reason for being sick?
The first aid bloke would advise you not to go home but go straight down to the pub and to avoid Pina Coladas!
