Downloading Films and Stuff

Couple of questions.

Never downloaded films before, so, got onto Google, found what I wanted to download, but, I had to load some program call Vuze first.
I'm dowloading right now. Can anyone tell me what Seeds and Peers are?

In Vuze it says Seeds 4 (236) and Peers 7 (590). What does this mean?

Seeds have the whole package You are connected to 4 out of 236. Peers have only parts of the package and you are connected to 7 out of 590. Seeds are not receiving anything, only sending. Peers are doing both.
