All the more reason to hasten AI and CGI, cut the organics out.
They can't show up to read when they're on strike though, can they. And what you say isn't always true. The writers strike only immediately affected the talk shows, as many film scripts were written already it was the actors strike that shut down production. Most movies don't get to market until a year after filming is done. There's a lot of cogs in the Hollywood machine that take time. Some scripts are written over a weekend.
Never heard of it. Is it British?
Harry, John Oliver's writers don't write scripts, they write jokes amd monologues, as well as laying out the format for the show and researching the topics.
I said "some" scripts are written over a weekend, not "all". When you have an episodic series that has been going for numerous seasons, and films 20 episodes a season, the plot lines and characters have already been established. At the start of filming for the season, not all of the seasons episodes have been written. A 30 minute show is really about 22 minutes allowing for commercials. So that is roughly a 22 page script, and lines are actually fairly spaced apart, unlike a book. It can be done, usually due to time constraints, but it can be done.
