Ciz; back to white knighting for the hateful little pikey.
Lol. Yeah, probably!
The story I posted (of Arnel's interview) is the short version.
In the longer version, Arnel said that when he answered that he was going for an audition, the consul looked skeptical. So the consul asked him to sing a not-popular song, to test him. Since Arnel was a Journey fan, he knew most of their songs. So he was able to sing it perfectly and the consul approved his visa.
Arnel has been singing in bands since his teenage days. He's also worked as an OFW in HongKong, also as a singer in a band. He has many interviews on YouTube (usually in Tagalog). Arnel also has his own YT channel - I think he started it during covid lockdown.
Re: his papers, I'm sure that Journey provided him with a letter of invitation/ support for the visa application.
++++++
Re: consuls & US visas, yeah they check very thoroughly. I brought a lot of papers with me for my US visa interview. I had the letter of acceptance/ invitation from the conference, letter from my employer, etc. It was a bit nerve-wracking but I got approved & was given a 10-year multiple entry visa. My job & previous travels helped. Many Filipinos get denied visas even if their papers are complete. Some leave the embassy in tears.
Davis said that Filipinos (and Thais) are notorious for overstaying their tourist visas (then working illegally) that's why the embassies (in PH & TH) are very strict.
