Good to go today. Only on computer, tablet, phone etc not on tv at the moment.

Not my usual way of watching, but will give it a shot.

We use a chrome cast to send it to the TV.

^ Gonna go home soon and set it up for the kids.

Can I just download an app off the TV same as Netflix?

...thinking about it, Netflix was already preloaded on my TVs.

You get an OTOP. They sms you a 4 number code. Think you need to do that on each device, but the first time only.

I managed to do that, and it even looks like it's logged in, but nothing plays.

Will correct, as it is apparently an "OTP", not an "OTOP".

    Sigh.

If I recall correctly we set it up on my daughters iPad first and she has no problem logging in every day. In fact, we are watching the Lion King right now.

My laptop though, I have to add the phone sms password every time.

Not sure if it's settings or what.

So, that is worth a shot I thought, given that I am not really enjoying watching on a tablet. Dutifully found what I needed, ordered it and it cam today.

    Yay!!!!!!!!

Well, no. It plugs in through the hdmi port, which is happily occupied by my cable box. And yes, my TV apparently only has one hdmi port.

And so now I have just ordered a hdmi switcher. The quest continues.

One HDMI port? You got some life out of that didn't you?

( Or are you sure there isn't another one on the back or the side? These TV designers can be evil bastards).

    Well goddam c*nty sweat bollocks.

Apparently my TV has three, with a further two embedded in the side.

After a wee bit of faffing - done and dusted.

Your help is MUCH appreciated. Thanks.

There are two bits of advice I offer that have a surprising success rate:

    1. "My TV only has one HMDI port" ... "Check the back or the side"

    and

    2. "I've lost my Passport/ID Card!" ... "Did you Scan it recently?"

TBH A chromecast is overpriced for what it does. Better to by a Chromecast w/Google TV or even a Tivo Stream 4K and install the actual app on it.

    $35 vs. new TV?

    It's not a TV...

It's an Android streaming device like a Firestick but with Chromecast built in.

So realistically it's only $15 extra and you can install Android apps on it.
