What to do with a dumb tv?

I’ve an older JVC television which I used years ago with cable. Then it was turned into a PC monitor. Now I’ve gotten rid of the PC. The TV still works great and has a good picture.

I think I would like to use it in the second bedroom but how?

What about streaming? Or casting from a phone? What kind of cheap dongles do that? Not wanting to spend heaps of money on it.

Or do I throw the old thing out?

Buy a google chromecast for about $30.

Then it will be just like a smart tv.

Can you check and post the model number, or a photo of the connection slots?

I'm sure posters will be happy to help if they know exactly what can be connected to it.

It has a HDMI port. As backspin said above, Chromecast will go into that.

Uncle Harry has given misskit her Netflix, some IPTV from the dodgy IPTV thread and Onstream, so she will be happy if left unmolested.

True, that. Harry turned up with the goods and installed them on my formerly dumb tv.

    Thank you, Harry!
