Watched the new "Terminator" episode at the SFX cinema yesterday. Was impressed with the effects, great action scenes, and the performances of the cast. A good movie to go and see at the cinema, imo.

As for the ending though...? An utter cop out. 6/10.

I thought the film was utterly rivetting until the ending.

Must be part of the franchise that all Terminator films have the same ending..?

    The End - Documentary

Interviews with eeest end villains/gangsters, the sort that would help an old lady cross the road while strangling a paedo/grass/slag kunt with one hand.

Lots of talk about respect, bow bells, being in poverty and being a "character". Some "famous" names in there but unless you're an 'ard man yourself or grew up with one of the Krays then you won't recognise many names.

Made by the daughter of one of the guys featured in it. 1h 15 mins. Not bad, not brilliant.

One hundred and seventy five pages and it could easily be boiled down to just a handful.

Take all the positive recommendations by CMN and Bunterfly and dismiss them as complete tosh.

Take all the negative recommendations by CMN and Bunterfly and put them on your to see list.
    Simple really.

    Somers Town

    Somers Town (2008)

Two teenagers, both newcomers to London, forge an unlikely friendship over the course of a hot summer. Tomo (Thomas Turgoose) is a runaway from Nottingham; Marek (Piotr Jagiello) lives in the district of Somers Town, between King's Cross and Euston stations, where his dad is working on a new rail link. The boys are both infatuated with the same girl, and pass their days bickering over which of them loves her the most.
Another British film from Shane Meadows who also made 'This is England' and 'Dead Man's Shoes'. Only an hour long and filmed in black and white, I found it really enjoyable and it didn't drag on. Sounds like a bit of a boring plot, but it works really well, nicely filmed, likeable characters. Tomo is played by Thomas Turgoose from 'This is England', a talented actor with a lot of charisma.

This film is rated a bit low on IMDB, I think it deserves more.

Anchorman The Legend of Ron Burgandy

I'm probably the last person I know to watch this film. It was entertaining and if your a fan of Will Ferrel and his mates then you'll definitely enjoy it. I'll give it an 8/10 and an afternoon on the couch well spent!

Ron Lola Run - German film with hardcoded english subtitles

Lola's boyfriend had a small buffalo losing 100,000 German marks that weren't his. Lola says she'll help him get the money, thing is she's only got 20 mins to find it. Set to a techno style soundtrack Lola gets to run around a lot with things happening along the way that shape the outcome.
1h15 or 1h30 cant remember, not bad and Lola's quite foxy with red hair

    Madagascar 2 Escape to Africa,
    Entertaining, good for a laugh.

    Clubbed (2008),
An underworld drama set in the early 1980s, about a lonely factory worker whose life is transformed when he becomes a nightclub doorman. UK movie, excellent.

    El Cartel (2009)
Mexico's most notorious drug lord schools a naïve journalist as to the principles behind The Cartel's success. I'll need to watch this one again as the Johnnie Walker had really kicked in and I can't even remember putting it on.

Aerial footage from 54 countries around the world an attempt to highlight how the earths problems are all interlinked.

I only lasted about 30 mins or so into this, I was just in the wrong mood for it.

Its a real Sunday evening pretend you're back in the UK watching natural history stuff. Some of the imagery is outstanding and even in the first part I watched I sometimes wondered if some of it was CGI but it isnt. Very vivid colours, shapes and formations make it interesting to watch but something just didnt keep my attention focused on it.

Its narrated by Glenn Close, who, when youre used to UK natural history programmes made with people like David Attenborough narrating just doesnt cut it for me.

Technically some of the shots are very impressive, shot from a helicopter but the shots have a very smooth tracking, almost as if the camera is on a dolly on solid ground.

I'll give it another go as I think it deserves more than just a quick look when Im more in the mood for a different sort of film.

^Had the same problem with The Art of War documentary last night. Wasn't in the right mood and the yank narrator was doing my head in. I'll give it another go another time though.

Great film, although I was dissapointed with Semi Pro.

Just watched "Woderful Life' with James Stewart for the umpteenth time. Still like it.

I've only just discovered the 'Lost' series which i'm into at the moment.

This sounds good. Where did you download it from?

    ---

Last night went to the cinema to see, "The Taking of Pelham 123.' Starring John Travolta, and Denzel Washington. The movie is about armed men who hijack a New York City subway train, holding the passengers hostage in return for a ransom, and turning an ordinary day's work for dispatcher Walter Garbe (Washington) into a face-off with the mastermind behind the crime. John Turturro is also in this movie. He plays the hostage negotiator, and it was interesting to see him in a serious role.

The movie was okay. Travolta plays an insane gunman, and his acting is superb. There is some action scenes at the end, but most of the movie was focused on the conversation between Travolta and Washington, who plays the dispatcher.

I'd give it a 6/10. Was kind of a pointless movie really, and not that much suspense, or action.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li

    DVDR

Another steaming turd of a film to be produced on a low budget in Bangkok. I know this film is loosely based on a video game, but even then, you have to suspend your beliefs for this one. Imagine, if you possibly can, that the Thai Police are paragons of virtue, and that the 'gangland homicide' department is headed by a blond Western bird who illegibly shouts orders in Thai to a well equipped and efficient bunch of trained Police officers. Told you it was hard to believe.

Of course the villain is Bison, a blond haired and blue eyed devil, that was raised in Bangkok and became a criminal, because all those whiteys do, don't they?
He steals and assaults the helpless, poor Thais, seeking to further his own evil ambition.

Chun-Li is the daughter of a Chinese businessman that is kidnapped by Bison, the... hang on, I can't believe I am bothering to even explain the plot to you.

A total turd. Made in Thailand by low-intellect Thais for low-intellect Thais.

Fuck, did they buy the rights to this franchise or something? 'Cos the other Street Fighter movie, another absolute arse of a film, was made in Thailand also.

This one is marginally better and I say that through gritted teeth.

Reminds me of my last bout of diarrhoea.

Oh, it stars Michael Clark-Duncan and that blond guy from Band Of Brothers.

    3/10

    the perfect sleep

infantile toss - turned it off after 30 mins

    the crips and bloods doco

was able to watch it all the way through , though the evangelical cnut in the straw hat ( fonsi or fansi ) was nearly enough to make me turn the thing off. it has some interesting footage , but the dialog and narrative was rather superficial .

some surprising titbits - like the 6 billion dollar initiative after the 1992 riots that died after 1 year - some fcukers made out like bandits.

Well, all I can really say is that it wiped the floor with the last one. It has been over hyped so therefore unlikely to exceed expectation, maybe meet it if you're lucky.
