actually downloaded a whole pile of Donovan after watching this movie that i hadn't listened to in years.

Teeth - Can't understand what all the fuss is about with this movie. It just seemed an ordinary B movie to me but it's getting high ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, which is normally a good indicator.

^I downloaded that while back for same reason as you by the sounds; strength of the RT ratings. Not watched it yet, not altogether keen too either for some reason.

The King Of Kong ( A fistful of quarters ) Documentary

A middle-school science teacher and a hot sauce mogul vie for the Guinness World Record on the arcade classic, Donkey Kong.

Mitchell, the World Record holder on Centipede, had been tracking the score on Donkey Kong, and knew he could take that title as well. In front of the 20 best gamers in the world, Billy scored 874,300 points, a record many thought would never be broken.

In 2003, 35 year old family man Steve Wiebe, after losing his job at Boeing, found solace in Donkey Kong. Steve stumbled upon Billy Mitchells record online, and set out to break it

A really good antidote to watching Hollywoods usual mind numbing fayre. It sounds like its geeky and it sort of is as its about videogames, but as the story unfolds it drags you in. The current champ against the contender, the little guy against the big guy, classic stuff. If you've ever played Donkey Kong or classic games youve got to watch this.

Im giving this a very good 8/10.

it's got whatsername Paige from Juno in it and i like her except that in juno she came across as a 22 year old woman rather than the 16 year old she was supposed to be playing.

she was 19 when she did hard candy and i'm guessing it will be more of the same.

Ive never been concurred before and I'm not sure how I feel about it. There are characters in that doc that you couldnt make up.

^Downloaded it about a year ago I think. I might have gotten it off mininova. In any case, it just sat on my HDD for a year. When I watched Lust, Caution, it sparked my interest in Ang Lee so I decided to give it a whirl.

I reviewed this months ago (should be on here somewhere) and thought it was very good. Billy comes off as a complete asshole, and it's interesting how his little minions try to manipulate the scores and give excuses as to why Wiebe's score shouldn't count. There's one scene where they come to Wiebe's house, open up his Donkey Kong arcade machine, and examine the board inside. Since the board has some mysterious marks on it, they decide that his record shouldn't count. It's these kinds of actions that really paint Billy as the devil, and Wiebe as the angel of light. Somehow I doubt that Billy is this bad in real life. He might be a complete wiener, but I imagine that the filmmakers focused on his negative qualities to emphasize the "David and Goliath" story motif. Still, a very good watch. I also looked up what happened after the doco -- and who really holds the record to this day.

I found it on mininova, btw.

Not worth reviewing really.

A very lazy bit of film making about an attempt on the President's life by some Middle Easterners or the other.
Absolute gash from start to finish despite a fairly stellar cast.

Imagine a really bad episode of 24 and double the worseness.
