Forgetting Sara Marshall - lad is dumped by his movie starlet gf. He decides to go to Hawaii to get over her, however by circumstance she is at the same resort he is. Pretty funny!!! 7/10
IRON MAN
Met my expectations but did not exceed them - sadly I missed the first ten minutes and the trailers which is a first for me, I've broken a Scampy rule. :(
Anyway, most of it we have seen all before in Robocop 2, league of extrordinary Gentleman, Jurassic Park and The Incredible Hulk in terms of the baddie having the same powers and then some in the final act.
However, Gweneth did well, Terence Howard looks and sounds like Cuba Gooding Jr's twin and Jeff Bridges looks like a bald father Christmas and turns out to be the bad guy.
Great to see Robert Downey Jr in a lead role with his Wayne Gale* beard back - don't think there's any superheros with facial hair - and refreshingly he makes no secret of his identity.
SFX were good, and so they should be - this is 2008, but nothing that really makes you go wow.

* Natural Born Killers
'21' very cool 66Stage : Free Movies Online from here.
Guy gives away all his worldly possessions and heads of on a 'journey of discovery' as these things are usually referred to. The tale of travelling with total freedom from depending on anything is quite impressive. The relationships with the various people he meets are all described particularly well. Beautiful cinematography. You could get irritated at the guy acting like such a tormented soul just coz his folks had a few rows but overall I would say this film is very good. 4/5
Absolute crap, avoid it.
Toss excellent vampire movie already given praise by several people on here.Quote:

No silver bullets or crucifixes, that's what made the movie good.
I thought it so boring and predictable, however it has got to please some people, otherwise it wouldnt be rated so highly on imdb. Just offering my thoughts.:)
Play it again, Sam (1972)
Play It Again, Sam (1972 film) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaQuote:
Allan Felix (played by Allen) has just been through a messy divorce. His two friends, Linda (Diane Keaton) and Dick (Tony Roberts), attempt to convince him to go out with women again. He agrees, and throughout the film, he is seen receiving dating advice from the ghost of Humphrey Bogart, who is visible and audible only to Allan.
One of my favourite Woody Allen films though it didn't receive the same amount of praise that many of his other films did.
Fantastically written and acted by the multi talented Woody Allen and with some clever directing from Herbert Ross.
9/10
Am I the only person who can't stand Woody Allen?
No don't worry Marmite, other people have bad taste in movies too.:)
His films with Diane Keaton are his best work from what I have seen. Annie Hall and Manhattan are both 10/10 movies for me.
I'd say he's one of the best film makers that's ever been. His writing is so sharp packed full of classic one liners, he acts the neurotic character so well, and his directing is amazing.
agree, an absolute genius, you either get him or you don'tQuote:

Actually I would doubt that. Woody Allen has won three Oscars so far and still making movies now, which generally means his films will be bringing in money for years to come, not just for a few months.
More importantly they will be watched and admired for years after he has gone.
And to judge art by how much money it makes, well really....
Looking forward to your review Brit, I haven't seen it myself yet. :)
