Rocketman.
Maybe it's because I'm getting old.
Maybe it's because the selection of OS movies available at local cinemas just doesn't appeal to me.
But it's been a while since I've seen a movie which is thought-provoking and inspires an after-movie discussion. (Last years Green Book was a notable exception.)
Or a movie which is a pleasant action-packed diversion. (Even the last Bourne offering was a drop in quality.)
Or a movie which has interesting characters. (Bohemian Rhapsody was an exception, as well as the aforementioned Green Book.)
So I thought that the biopic Of Elton John might offer something, at least to the standard of BR.
But really, it didn't.
Elton John just didn't appear to be a very interesting person.
The movie dealt with his drug-taking and bum-banditry, parrot like costumes and extreme shoes, but overall, his personality seemed quite bland.
A marked contrast to Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.
The Musical-type aspects of the movie were quite interesting, where the cast bursts into song along with Elton, and the party at the house/garden of Mama Cass is on my bucket list if ever a time machine is invented, but on the whole, Rocketman is a rather bland offering, which gets a rather bland 4.5.
