John Wick 2 rubbish
Fights against 100 guys
Pointless nonsense
The Silence (2019, Netflix)
A Quiet Place meets Reign of Fire.
Moments of suspense but generally crap and a lame, abrupt ending.
4/10
A Star is Born
Powerful and authentic feeling tale of unlikely love between a rock star and a soon to be famous bar singer.
I had no idea it was Lady Gaga until the closing titles as I did not know what she looked like even though I have illegally downloaded and listened to her entire discography.
I vaguely recognised Bradley Cooper.
Cannot really give this less than 8.9/10
Really?
It was a crushing disappointment. I was expecting, from Cooper's interviews, a drastic departure from the originals, but in fact it was virtually a straight copy apart from the scene of him wetting himself which was probably too much for James Mason or Kris Kristofferson.
5/10 at best.
The Wandering Earth (2019, Netflix)
Epic Chinky sci-fi with an absurd story and grandiose special effects that took the chinastan box office by storm.
Basically a story about how Chinastan saves the earth from being swallowed by the sun, nearly fucking it up, then moving it again in time for a sequel.
Chinastan saving the earth - are they having a laugh?
4/10
Of course they don't mind Netflix picking it up for a few bob, because being chinkies, Netflix is banned in the whole of Chinastan. Can't have a bit of competition or anything that might rock Winnie the Pooh's boat I suppose.
...I meant this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plan_9_from_Outer_Space
Er.....
I don't see any connection at all. What makes you think it's a sequel to this? The storyline concerns extraterrestrials who are seeking to stop humanity from creating a doomsday weapon that could destroy the universe. The aliens implement "Plan 9", a scheme to resurrect the Earth's dead, referred to as "ghouls". By causing chaos, the aliens hope the crisis will force humanity to listen to them. If not, the aliens will then destroy mankind with armies of the undead. The film was originally developed under the title Grave Robbers from Outer Space, but its financial backers objected to this title, which they saw as being sacrilegious, and it was retitled Plan 9 from Outer Space prior to production.
It's a cult classic that one. One of those it's so bad it's good deals.
I only saw it because it came, whole film, as an unlockable extra on the 'Destroy All Humans!' PS3 game.
^The Director of "Plan 9.." was a bit of a character. The film about him, "Ed Wood" (his actual name) was pretty good also. Probably Johnny Depp's last decent film.
yeah, Ed Wood, quite infamous director in Hollywood
Dragged Across Concrete
Solid entertainment with original detail and character observation and unusually slow and reflective pacing for a heist movie.
Unusual role for Mel Gibson.
7.8/10
I was bored, so bought a few beers and went to Netflix... I've seen these before, quite liked them, but thought they may be even better this time around.
Kill Bill = shite.
Kill Bill 2 = perhaps worse; shiter than shite.
A young man with high potential.
Cyrille written all over it.
4/10
Oh My Aching Sides
Agressive Scottish drunk tries and fails to keep his anger in check by sending angry pms.
3/10
Watched it yet?
What PM, never sent you anything you gangly fibber..
Sent one to that sick little puppy reachy,,,,,,,is that the one saddo...
Sharing is caring.
A graphic story of endurance and hope in WW2, it's well worth a watch..
Jan Baalsrud is a remarkable but relatively little-known hero of the second world war: a Norwegian resistance commando who escaped to Britain after the Nazi invasion, trained in exile there and as part of a 12-man sabotage squad arrived back in Norway in 1943 in a phoney fishing vessel filled with explosives, on a mission to blow up a German air-control tower. He and his comrades were betrayed by a Norwegian civilian. Eleven were shot, but Baalsrud managed to get away and evade a huge Nazi manhunt: a two-month ordeal in the snowy wastes making his way to neutral Sweden, during which he suffered frostbite, gangrene and terrifying near-misses, but kept going with food and help from local sympathisers. His survival became a morale-boosting legend – “the 12th man” who defied the Nazis.
Posted that yonks ago Chitty, try and keep up.
Excellent movie though.
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
Can't believe I somehow missed the release of a Coen Brothers movie.
A very entertaining anthology of curious Wild West stories.
8.5/10
