Arrh ok cheers. I don't normally go for a movie with 'vs' in the title.

I can recommend Attack Girl Swim team vs the Undead.
Those Japanese girls really know how to liven up a movie.
Apocalypse Now Redux
"Charging a man with murder in this place was like handing out speeding tickets at the Indy 500."
An extra 49 minutes of footage and a running time of over 3 hours. Owners of surround sound systems will appreciate the remastered soundtrack and deep bass directional sounds of eternal helicopters passing overhead. Coppola must have hired a whole fleet of helicopters to make this movie.
The extra footage slows down the pace of the movie, but enticingly draws out the slow descent into the madness/sobriety of the world of Kurtz.
Extra scene at the old French plantation is the most obvious change to the movie. The Vietnam is like an egg dialogue is indeed fitting.
Some people think it don't, but it be.
The scene where they are trading diesel for sex with the Playboy girls is a bonus too, which also reinforces the theme of futility and lawlessness and the cheapness of life, the pitiful and forgotten post, the soldiers without leadership or care, sex with an image of American beauty in a funeral parlour with corpses on the muddy floor.
A superb film in it's full glory, I usually watch it in two halves.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"
Cheers for that. I've got a BRIP downloading now.

Just watched the 2011 French murder mystery thriller "Switch". It got reviews around 6/10, but I thought it was better than that. In French, but with excellent subtitles. I recommend it.

^Quite correct, I didn't realize that - interesting!
Was in the mood for a war movie last night, so re-watched "Enemy at the Gate". Sniper vs sniper in Stalingrad. Great! 9/10, as always!
Quite a different feel with the additions.Originally Posted by Plan B

Dark Night Rises. 5/10 Trying to be dark and funny is a tough ask, unless they were just trying to be dark and they failed.
Skyfall. 6/10 If you watch the 50 years of Bond documentary by Richard Hammond then you have seen most of the good bits. When you have a child playing 'Q' and he has no goodies, you have to go back to Aston Martin and dynamite past its sell by date. Bond on a budget for recessionary times?
Ted. 7/10 A childish premise but quite enjoyable if predictable tosh. For me the star of the movie was Ted's potty mouthed trailer trash girlfriend. Easy and undemanding viewing.
Heart of Gold and a Knob of butter.
A little more realistic, but why the baddie just didn't send in a missile totting drone is beyond me.Originally Posted by chassamui
That would have cut the movie short by 20 mins.
My inner cynic is always on alert ….
Watched the fascinating documentary of Jason Becker - Not dead yet.
I never heard of the guy, but its a great doco, 9/10
Watched "The Factory" last night. John Cusak and the actress who plays Dexter's sister. I had had this for a while, but had never gotten around to it (perhaps the uninspiring title and cover?). Turned out to be very good. 9/10. No review for fear of spoiler. Detective movie. Cusak's turning into a pretty good actor, and Dexter's sister was good, although she still says 'fuck' way too much (but not as much as in Dexter).
Agree, it's a long time since i read Ludlum, but they seemed to have stepped completely away from the Bourne story here. Other than to advertise the movie, there is no real reason for this to be a bourne movie.
They could have run it as a stand alone, would probably have been less disappointing that way.
Poltergeist (1982)
Ate some space cake and turned the lights out to watch this just like in the old days.
I haven't seen it in years and it's such a good film, and it really stands up to the test of time. Some of the cgi was a little weak of course, but that was more than outweighed by the mechanical effects that must have cost a fortune to put together. The cinematography is excellent and the atmosphere is fantastic given that it isn't created with a studio full of special effects. It's such an iconic '80s' film, the style, the sexuality, the humour.. it doesn't take itself seriously and plays out like a rollercoaster ride.
Best of all.. JoBeth Williams was one smokin' hot mama..! Oh yeah
And boy could she scream!! There is a scene where she is trapped on the landing with the poltergeist and let's out a ripper, must be one of the best all time top horror film scream scenes. Legend.
