just watched Sweet and Lowdown (1999)

the BEST Woody Allen movie since Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989), IMHO.

It stars Sean Penn as a fictitious jazz guitarist, who's obsessed with being the 2nd best guitarist in the world (the 1st is the real/legendary Django Reinhardt). It follows this tortured genius & all the whacky situations he gets into.

I would give it a 3.75/4 stars! Funny as hell & if you like old school jazz guitar, you'll dig the soundtrack too!

    this thread is going badly.
so badly in fact that the best review so far was DD's and a cut and paste job by Little Chuchock because he's far too lazy to ever put together more than a one liner.

A lot of thought when into that, I was going to put "it was allright"

This movie was worth-watching. The characters are well-drawn and sympathetic. Just as young Walter (Haley Joel Osment) gets to know his great uncles (Michael Caine and Robert Duvall), we are introduced to this pair of "Secondhand Lions". Just as Walter learns to trust these two eccentric strangers after a lifetime of lies from his untrustworthy mother, we are allowed to learn the lessons of life in pace with him. There are no plot tricks, just eye-widening revelations as the story unfolds at a satisfying pace.

This is not a small quiet story, however. There is the rumor of a hidden fortune of which, it seems, everyone from relatives to traveling salesmen has heard. There are hints that it was obtained through the uncles' adventures but also that it might be ill-gotten gains. Along with Walter, the audience discovers the truth of the rumor.

There is action, comedy, danger, acts of courage, defiance, and tragedy that is part of human frailty. It's wonderfully accomplished in a way that allows older children to enjoy it with their parents. You have characters with whom you can identify no matter what your stage in life.

The director skillfully weaves the past and the present and still manages to preserve the confirmation of story until the very end. I don't want to say too much about this movie or it will spoil the fun of experiencing/watching it. Don't miss this movie.

That's conspicuous by its lack of spelling mistakes.
It's another bloody cut and paste isn't it?

    All my own work

It is a really nice film though, sort of grows on you while you are watching it. The type of film that should be on TV over the christmass holidays

I would recommend watching a movie called “The motorcycle dairies” with Gael Garcia, The story of the young Ernesto Guevarra and his travels through south America, long before he got his “CHE” moniker. The movie is in Spanish with English subtitles. Its nothing ground breaking just a nice story and its all shot with a sort of sepia undertone, the scenery is breathtaking and the soundtrack compliments it perfectly.

It's a good idea about the mulitple movie review. I don't care which movie it is, but it must be a torrent with a lot of seeds/leeches.

Also, we need to give people a week or so to download it.

The Motorcycle Diaries has a torrent here http://www.chomskytorrents.org/TorrentDetails.php?TorrentID=1788

It has 11 seeds and 12 leeches.

^ I'm not sure about the historical accuracy of The Motorcycle Diaries, but I LOVE that flick!

If anyone hasn't seen it, I suggest it highly!

Heard a lot about that one. Not sure what to think as it's pretty vulgar. Not as bad as Jackass 1 and 2 but still 1/3 trash I was told. I will download.

I watched "The World Fastest Indian" and I liked it.
