Ben Stiller is a twat - I give the movie 3/10 and it's worth seeing for Robert Downey JR and no one else.
Watched "Broke Down Palace" last night which basically sucked. Rather took the piss outa Thailand and Thais...
Boiler Room.
Not bad.
^ I really want to see that film; asked my local pirate for a copy last night; said he could get me one but I don't think he'll ever remember.
It was on our local cable tonight for the second time in two months but late and tiresome for the wife to explain it all.
Where did you get your copy from??
Please don't mention foking torrents! I can't do it from here
Has anyone seen 'The Snatch'? 4.5/5 in my book.
I liked it in spite of a lot of foul language. Very funny - and equally none pc to all the races.......refreshing!!!
I'm DLing it now. If it's finished in time, I'll give you a copy later.Quote:

Anyways, I watched Hellboy II - the Golden Army last night.
Upbeat CGI adventure that I probably would have loved as an 11-year old, but the plot is linear and the story rather predictable and formulaic. If you feel you're up for an Indiana Jones-style fairy tale with lots of strange creatures and monster battles, then perhaps it'll be one for you.
10/10 for the CGI, but no more than 4/10 as a whole. I guess I just expected Guillermo de Toro to do better based on Pan's Labyrinth. Interesting to see how the creature designs in Hellboy I and II are very similar to that one by the way.
In general I feel it's a shame all that brilliant CGI artistry which must have cost a fortune to create is not used in a more interesting setting, or that it seems to have replaced the need for a good story but I think it is only a question of time before other people see the same thing.
The more time passes the more I feel Tarantino had it right when he said that if he had wanted all that CGI shit he would have gone stuck his dick in a Nintendo.
Watched Hellboy (the first one) yesterday. Honestly, I was bored for most of the film. I will give the second one a go but I'm not optimistic.
Some bloke at work downloaded it onto a CD for me. It's well worth a watch, especially if you've ever worked in that sort of sales environment.
Team America is good for laughs. Written by the South Park guys & done in the style of Thunderbirds.
Baka Daka Laka Jihad!!!
Quantum of Solace
Save your money and the time you’ll never get back if you were thinking about seeing this movie,……………unless you like action movies.
Out of the gate,…..action,……..a car chase. The movie centers on the two main charters getting back at people who have harmed/killed people they once loved. Within this plot there’s another plot where the evil doers are trying to lock up property around the world for oil and an even a more precious resource in South America where the majority of the fill takes place.
Bond doesn’t get the Bond girl because there isn’t one in this movie. In fact he doesn’t even do the other main character in the movie,…..he doesn’t want her.
I would give it a 2 out of 5 for a rating. The woman I took to the movie,………..the person who suggested we go see it (She’s fond of the new Bond look/guy/body),……..fell asleep only to wake up ¾ of the way through the movie because of a bang bang shoot them up scene. She didn’t miss a thing.

Eden Lake 2008
Merseyside chavs terrorise young yuppy couple trying to have a romantic weekend by the lake.
Fukkin hated it.
The victims were pathetic, and the kids were vile.
0/10 for entertainment value.
Obsession - Radical Islam's War Against the West.
The movie, that sparked the news story, that started the thread: https://teakdoor.com/issues/36480-muslim-children-gassed-dayton-mosque-after.html
Starts out showing Islamist propaganda. Nothing too inflamatory there, unless you're one of those American big Satans, or English kuffars that feast on the blood of the elderly who hates being outed on Palestinian TV. Continues on about the similarity of the indoctination of the Muslim young and the Nazi movement leading to WWII. A terroist rap tune by Sheik Terrah, and ends with a call to action. (Action not specified, maybe if you follow the link at the end you'll find out, but leave that for the issues thread)
Nothing really big or exciting, highlights a problem/growing threat we already know exists, not big on solutions.

Saw 5
Anyone who saw parts 1 -4 will know what to expect. Anyone who didn't probably wouldn't watch this anyway.
Uh, that's it really. :)
Get Smart
Another secret agent spoof.
The guy from 40-year-old Virgin plays a pencil pusher analyst at CONTROL, a US secret service type operation that is fighting to justify its existance after the Cold War. His dream is to become a field agent but his boss thinks he's too valuable as analyst of Russian chatter intercepted off the air waves. Events turn in his favour and gives him the chance though.
Lghtweight Mel Brooks-style comedy (with the obligatory gonad humour). Fairly amusing, a few laugh-out-loud jokes. Time killer but nothing more.
5/10.
What did you expect from a 99THB DVD? It's a 3 hour movie probably crushed onto a DVD5.Quote:

I'm impatiently waiting for the Blu-ray which I regard as a must own if the HD transfer remains the same. The film has also been re-cut to Lynch's approval.
The Godfather
2/10 So rubbish I fell asleep half way, I thought maybe I'd got the wrong film until I saw the horse head bit and knew it was the film everybody raves about. This film should be compared to Jackanory, it isn't a scratch on Goodfellas. Won't be bothering with the sequels.
Surely you are joking Scamp, 2/10 for The Godfather?
Ive got to admit Ive never watched The Godfather all the way through. Its a bit overrated for me, too many characters to keep track of.
^ I tend to agree with that too, a bit too long for me, and slow
are you sure ? he fucking hate the movie, don't want to have anything to do with it.Quote:

Steal the concept from 28 months later, throw in a load of mad max characters, especially beyond the thunderdome, run out of steam with that so go back to medieval times. This was abysmal.
1/10
Neil Marshall did it as a homage to 80's action films, especially 'Mad Max' as you mention, but also 'Aliens' (especially the scenes with the APC's!), 'Escape from New York', 'The Last Boy Scout' ("hit me again and I will kill you" :)), etc.
Anyway, worth watching just to see Rhona Mitra. :)
