You know you don't belong when you romantically envision the beloved '80s as nostalgic.
^You know you don't belong when you get told to fuck off every day for years, but don't.
Fuck off Jeff.
What a bit of harmony can do
So, you loved the eighties so much that you’ve put up...err...two songs recorded this century?
The 80s were great because nany of us were in our prime at that time.
The fashion SUCKED.
The music had MOMENTS, but generally sucked.
The Xers are beginning to find out they weren't/aren't that special or influential.
Applies to their offspring [Tweeners and Millennials] as well....

There's this virtual pub quiz on Youtube with about 200,000 followers, the guy that does it has raised a ton of money for various charities and garnered a bit of attention from the C-list celeb community.
He has a half time break and "stars" are volunteering to fill in for him. Last week it was a Falstaffian Gary Barlow, this week Rick Astley who clearly is making great use of Grecian 2,000,000.
So before you start waxing lyrical about the 80's remember they brought us Take That and the Stock Aitken and Waterman musical shit factory.
The 80s were shit. Life didn't start until 1990.
The 80s were fantastic. Big hair, cheesy music and no worries in the world as a kid.
See, you youngsters didn't realise they were just clinging on to the 70's with overdubs and music videos hiding the fact the music was mostly rubbish.

Shall we have a 60s 70s 80s 90s music off - get a thread started only one poster one song one day? sorry thats not inclusive and 2000+
many great tracks Hal. A universal truism in music - only great music comes from angst, druggies, alcoholics, broken hearts blah blah blah - as soon as they solved their shit the music got boring. The 80 and 90 musics was just like a whole post thanks for sharing (in recovery) load of bollix only made tolerable with a load of E, the grade of which when down faster and got cut with H faster than a Seattle stray.
Almost no actual songs or bands mentioned by anyone yet.
Quite odd.
Odd is when you are so fcuked up on legal drugs that you pine for a time when you were so fcuked up on illegal drugs and you cannot remember it
1970s...in no particular order.
Sabbath War Pigs
Floyd Time and Wish You Were Here
Lynyrd Skynyrd Free Bird
Deep Purple Smoke On the Water
AC/DC Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
Queen Bohemian Rhapsody
Zeppelin Kashmir
Free All Right Now
Stones Brown Sugar
...and many more I'm forgetting right now.
Many exceptions and with some excellent stuff later on, but %wise generally downhill from the 60s and 70s.
