I remember that movie, the last picture show, that bit where he grabbed her by the pussy gave me a funny feeling in my tummy. At least I think it was my tummy.
Bad day at black rock looks good.

If you have a few hours to while away, a gangster movie that for some reason never got the acclaim others did "Once Upon A Time in America". 86% on rotten tomatoes

    Bit of an epic

Though some viewers might be put off by its length, graphic violence, and absence of likable characters, Sergio Leone's final film is also a cinematic masterpiece. Spanning four decades, the film tells the story of David "Noodles" Aaronson (Robert De Niro) and his Jewish pals, chronicling their childhoods on New York's Lower East Side in the 1920s, through their gangster careers in the 1930s, and culminating in Noodles' 1968 return to New York from self-imposed exile, at which time he learns the truth about the fate of his friends and again confronts the nightmare of his past. I watched Bad Day at Black Rock and Twelve Angry Men the other night, excellent entertainment.

And for a more contemporary legal thriller, Runaway Jury.

I may give The Verdict another run later.

A classic movie imho and Newman's oscar nod was thoroughly deserved (I thought he'd won it but Ghandi spoiled it).

DocMartin, Series 9 now on Netflix.

Trouble is, watching this just makes me want to go back and live in the UK.

Was browsing movies last night when I came across an old (1993) movie called Dave about a presidential body double who takes over a corrupt U.S. government.
Oh how I laughed. How simple and naive we were.

Good watch, easy to binge; not sure if the last brief scene is prep for S2, but if it is then they got rid of some characters that could just as easily have stayed.

    8.5

Westworld, interesting story line though these scifi series can quickly become absurd, Anthony Hopkins is worth a couple of points on his own, but I can't be pwned by a few tits so halfway through S01 will give it an 8.

Finished Gangs of London the other night.

I enjoyed it, but the best bits for me were the fight/kill scenes. They must have blown 80% of their budget on special effects. Think of Tarantino meets John Wick.

    Excellent stuff.

    I thought it was passable.

I can't believe this Money Heist is so polarizing.

Wherever I look it seems most people think it's fucking brilliant or an utter bag of shit, with little in between.

But since I still haven't started The Sopranos, it can wait.

Amazingly, they appear to have resurrected Van Der Valk. Three episodes up at EZTV.

And you will now curse me for having the theme tune stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

So Van Der Valk is three 90 minute episodes.

    Passable, sort of 6.5/10/
