Me too. I get in some cars and they have phone cords and dash cam cords everywhere plugged into to cig lighters ports. Then I watch them constantly pushing them out of the way or them flopping all over the dash.

OH yeah BB but in fairness it is not a "Real" TRD. I ordered a fully loaded Revo as it was far better equipped then a TRD Revo. It would be a waste of money buying a TRD optioned truck here as the only thing TRD on a Hilux here are the stickers.

The entire factory suspension from my truck I yanked off at 1000km and its long gone. I brought over a bunch of Tacoma TRD parts from a few of my Offroad race buddies along with a full front and rear suspension from Toytec Suspensions. Long story there as we were not sure it would work on a Hilux. My friend Chris set me up as they wanted pics after it was done to hopefully break into the Hilux market. It all fit with the exception of a few steering parts as they were designed for left hand drive. I had to fab up reverse parts for that but no biggie. They plan on a few shows in the future at the Impact center. Outside of that I have a few subtle touches pluggin the TRD. The other day at gas station near Ban Bueng, there was a foreigner guy filling up next to me, He came over and we started chatting. He said "He knew I must be a foreigner because my truck looked very "Western" modified. We laughed. Nice guy. He was from Australia and wants to get some off road products sent over for his Revo.

@ Ant.... In Cali I used to go to car shows in LA and Oakland and some of them guys have sounds systems that I have watched them physically blow the glass out of the car. No Shit. Its crazy but amazingly the music was always crystal clear and not all distorted as in the vid. Of course we can argue whats the point but we all do our car hobby stuff for our own reasons. Any car/truck mod stuff to me is fun. That said I do miss good car shows. Cali used to lay some good ones down. Beer, music, women, BBQ's.

From the east bay Oakland.....These guys have systems you can hear for miles.

Let me dig them up. I am still waiting on the owners manual, forgot it and they will send it to me but its intuitive to use so its not a big deal.. My set up was ~ 20k baht complete drop in. That includes the full bezel that bolts right in and replaces the factory Revo one as the screen is much larger and its got to go. Its also linked to the back up camera and all the steering wheel functions.

on Edit Bogon, Here is the business that sets them all up in BKK. My wife knows them through the Pajero group she joined.

btw....Speakers are in order unless you want to go into your equalizer settings and take all the bass out and lower the treble. But then whats the point. Good speakers are cheap.

And... not the best photo but once in navigating mode... no icons in the way. There seem to be a lot of icons in normal mode, but it zooms in once Google starts navigating and all's OK. In fact I can't believe how good Google is... it guided me along a new section of road in Korat today that's only been open a month or two.

And to answer that question, if your truck starts to resemble anything like this:

then immediately stop what you are doing, go outside, give yourself a good talking to, and seek help.

    Welcome Mendip....WELCOME!!!!

Hmmm. When does it end? Well I think it might end after the speakers but....... then you will start to enjoy the clarity of your music and you might just want an amp.

As for your daughter complaining about your 80's music.....I have to side with her.

^^^^ The guy at the car place did try and persuade me to get something that sat under the driver's seat... maybe a 'bass box'? I declined... said I was too old for all that stuff.

I had my daughter with me as well... and she has this really annoying habit of reporting my spending back to the wife. I bought her silence with an hour in Playland and a pizza in The Mall while the speakers were getting fitted!

^^ I would certainly get some strange looks picking up the daughter from her posh school in a truck like that red one... aahhh... maybe that could be fun, but not really fair on the littlun, all her mates' parents seem to drive BMWs and there's quite a few Porsches turn up as well.

This is my set-up now, and I think I've gone quite far enough. I can vary the 80s compilations with some 70s stuff as well for the sake of variety.

One thing I haven't discovered yet... what happens if the phone rings while I'm driving?

Yeah the truck needs a good all out clean up and detail. Might even smell better.

^^ Do you know... I was just looking at that picture and thought how disgustingly filthy it makes the inside of my car look. It looks quite clean in real life.

I guess after 13 years it's time to clean it up a bit. I'm right on to it!

    Smell???

If you have it on BT the screen on your display will show the call and you click the little button and answer it. You will speak through your speakers. Its hands free.

I like the tray of miniature animals on the dash.

If you had a manual 4WD truck, a second transmission changer stick is fitted. Allowing for a plastic grocery bag either side of the console.

That'll be the amp. Get one. itll make a huge difference with your new 200 and 300 watt speakers that have probably replaced the 50 watt standard they've taken out

^^^ I need to read the manual... that BT thing is always showing on the screen, but so far I haven't really thought much about it. I guess there must be a microphone in the new 'head' unit then?

^^ That green plastic grocery bag hanging off the 4 wheel drive gear stick is the litter bin! It gets replaced most weeks!

    ^ They sound good, mind!
