    Solar chargers

    Hey ya'll,

Anyone know bout' solar chargers that can power both USB and AV?

I think "AV" is the right way to explain a standard U.S. 2 prong plug that could (for example) power up a laptop (45W) or a charging cord for other devices (100-240V) such as batteries for a drone.

I want a foldable solar charger for a camping trip where we'll have contact with an auto for most of the trip.

Must I add a "middle-man" (i.e. 'solar charger controller') in order to have input/outputs beyond usb only, as in this device(?):

    Kinda' new to all this.

Cheers and Thanks for any advice.

Thanks Harry, that answers some questions for sure.

"A full solar panel kit for camping needs to have a few things. First of all, the panels need to be portable and compact, hence many people choose thin film panels. You will, of course, need a solar battery, plus an inverter and solar regulator (or charge controller, fundamental to avoid damages to your battery caused by overcharging)."

I have some garden lights powered by rechargeable batteries by a 60 x 60mm solar panel on the top. The panel top surface seems to be plastic rather than glass and it is getting less and less transparent. I've tried cleaning with soap and water but the dullness isn't shifting.

Any suggestion to make the panel back to the original clarity and hence power generation?

    I've found this:

Some suggest using toothpaste as a cleaner.
