So how are you guys watching TV, movies, & series nowadays?

Getting a bit frustrated with Kodi. I have a Minix box with Kodi & upgrading to Kodi 17 is not going so well.

Exodus has apparently had some changes that I'm trying to figure out.

I have an Apple TV4, and I side loaded Kodi onto it, but I have to have a Developers account with apple and every 7 days re-load it.

Netflix Thailand sucks. VPN to the states works but not on all devices.

Airplay on Apple TV4 doesn't seem to want to work with netflix WTF

Pain in the dick when I wanna plop down & watch TV - have to turn on VPN's & do all this BS.

Ive pretty much given up lately & download torrents & HDMI from my Mac to the TV. Provides the best picture quality as well.

Gonna go tomorrow & pay 8K baht to TrueVisions so they can re-activate my subscription. I quit paying about a year ago.

Anyway, what are you guys doing for TV nowadays?

See my thread titled "Kodi". Fusion is shut down so the repositories are not available and , in consequence, neither is the Exodus addon.

Its still useable, just have to use a different repo. Forgot the name, but I have it on my AppleTV4.

You can use a build with exodus from a different repo also.

Bit busy now, but ill look up the repo & build that has exodus still functional.

i have a netflix password from a pal in bkk, but there is a limited amount of stuff on there that interests me or mrs.t.

i use pirate bay for tv series, documentaries and films, download them onto a usb stick and then play them through the tv.

just finished watching the latest series of fargo, i recommend it highly.

Another thing about Kodi/Exodus is that the picture quality kinda sucks donkey penis. Even when the streams say 1080p - yeah nah.

Another thing thats putting me back with TPB & torrents. Quality is much better.

Really gotta get a VPN for Netflix to unlock its potential. Whats available in Thailand is nothing.

Anyone with a Android Box can use ......

    https://terrariumtv.com

Showbox App Download | Free Movies App

    or

OneBox HD | The Best Box to relax

I watch all my Movies and TV series online now and only download torrents if it's the only option

For a PC then these 2 sites are good

Amazon Firestick, Kodi 17.3. I am using Ares Wizard to load applications. I paid £ 25 for my device direct from Amazon when it was on offer. Still under £ 40 with them.

Do not buy a preloaded device as it will only need to be updated. You might just as well do everything yourself from the beginning.

Never do. I was talking about Kodi Builds, not buying a pre-built device. I have this Kodi Build on my AppleTV4 and Exodus is still working just fine. Plus its badass.

So much is happening these days with lawsuits popping up all over the place that we need to check addons on a day by day basis.

kodi is OK but with so many great APK's available now I hardly ever use Kodi. The only time I use Kodi now is to use the BBC iplayer and ITV iplayer addons to watch catchup TV shows with out a VPN as the addons have one built in ( no good for live TV though but there are many options for that ) . You'll find them on the Noobs and Nerds Kodi Repository .... How To Install Noobs and Nerds Kodi Repository Kodi 17 Krypton | WirelesSHack

I use ExpressVPN, you have to pay for it of course, but its not expensive.

    https://www.expressvpn.com

Download the program/app. If you want to watch whats available in the UK on netflix, select a UK server, turn it on, open netflix, & watch. US content - US server, turn on, open netflix. Etc...

If anyone want to try the BBC iPlayer on Kodi for watching Catchup then here is how you set it up, the ITV iPlayer should work off the bat

KODI SET UP FOR THE BBC iPLAYER

    BBC iPlayer version 0.3.7

Go to Kodi > Video > Video Add-ons > Put the cursor on the BBC iPlayer icon and left click and hold down for 10 seconds and then release > a box will appear on the screen ( right click if your on a PC )

Left click on 'Add-on settings" and another Box will appear on the screen

Put your cursor on 'Stream Options " and change the 'Catchup Sorce' to 'RTMP' and then switch 'Off' the 'AutoPlay " option as the picture above > then click OK.

Then put your cursor on the 'Settings" option and make sure the proxy is set for 'justproxy.co.uk ' as above > then click 'OK.

You can now open your BBC iPlayer add-on and chose the program you want to see but now you will get a list of links to chose from. Always chose the 2nd 'LIMELIGHT" Option and it will Play . The ones in green [1500 kbps ] are HD and the ones in red [480 kbps and 800 kbps] are SD.....enjoy

I have seen that comment/complaint a lot about Netflix in Thailand, particularly around the movie library. I think at launch it had something like only 20% of the content cf. U.S(?) though I understand it has improved somewhat now.

That boggles my mind a bit though. I've never seen the U.S. Netflix but I'm already completely backlogged on just the Thai one so I can't even imagine having X number of even more choices.

Using Pulse TV, along with the occasional download of US series (played back via Apple TV), working great for me. 24 hour catch up on every channel, plus a large library of films/TV series, including very recent ones. Couple of weeks ago watched Trainspotting 2, which I know is quite recent. Every sports channel you can think of.

Will definitely renew my annual subscription in August.

I still use torrents - then copy to USB hard drive and ones to the tablet for the plane

high speed connections are not everywhere - so the fibre at home I max out when I am there and get a few hundred gigs of stuff

I also download some series in french for people in madagascar via torrents and bring them back
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

    I've never quit torrents.

So, the same way as I did 10 years ago.

For live sports I've got a firestick as described by snakeyes due to arrive anytime now.

I still use torrents also (plus Netflix plus RugbyPass).

Anyone else remember Limewire?? I remember being really reticent about switching from that to torrents back in the day which is kinda funny with hindsight.
