    the problem with james bond

he's a proper twat and that goes back all the way through the various incarnations

i wish he'd fall out of a helicopter and onto a spike

apparently book bond was alright but i've never read them

I watched Spectre in 1080p tonight.

Watched it in DVDSCR last week.

I don't know what the critics are banging on about. It was a great action movie. What do folk want from Bond?

Leave the avant garde stuff up to experimental movies and just keep Bond ticking along nice and solid I say.

But get rid of Daniel Craig. He looks like a football hooligan in a tuxedo.

Also I did not go for the duck-tail back-end on the DB10.

do you think i should carry on then

i have the 1080p version and stopped it at the helicopter scene about 9 minutes in and posting here was more appealing than watching any more

i have never really like bond to be honest

tom cruise though...there's a likable action romp hero

It is nothing sensational. But I am a Bond fan. I watched the entire series from DrNo to Skyfall last year.

I've never seen any of the films either, well not intentionally. I've seen a few minutes when channel swapping. One where there was a hotel built of ice??

    I enjoyed watching Spectre.
But yeah, 007 and Mission Impo look more and more interchangable with each new release.

The boys of the Monty Python troupe long missed their opportunity to create the definite spoof towards the Bond franchise - would've been clearly entertaining when they were at the top of their game...

    Too late.
    Alas....

Well they are difficult to compare since newer movies are more sophisticated but my personal favourites are

    Goldeneye
    From Russia with Love
    Goldfinger

If you don't like Bond then you probably never will

I don't think JB is something that grows on you.

You either loved it since you were 8 or it leaves you cold.

I was always a fan but the GF is a huge fan so I kind of got back into it in the past year.

I think when Craig goes the franchise will struggle to replace him. This (Spectre) was a good enough actioner but it's beginning to get a bit stale. Hope Idris Elba tells them to get fucked.

Never really cared for the movies...The first couple were best.

As a kid, I loved the books! Would have been about 13 or so when they first started being published.....

The seppos had a go at copying Bond, but it didn't work.

Ewan McGregor would make a good Bond. Craig was too buff for the role.

I think they have to keep up with the times.

Bond should be a black, disabled, lesbian, muslim chick.

It's the only way they'd get hired these days.

Good job Bond has his Martinis shaken and not stirred then.

It'd play havoc with his swizzle stick.

He is too good an actor to be wasted on a franchise like Bond.

It's ok for mr average to middling talent like Brosnan or Craig. They can return unchanged to their adequate careers. Idris Elba would be wasting his best years marking time.

Agreed. Read a rumour recently that Hugh Jackman was a possible future starter as Bond, can't see that working. Also read that Matt Damon was back for the next Bourne movie, now that will work.

They are all simplistic, juvenile pap, even in the 60's they seemed ridiculous. The only good thing about them is some of the songs were good. As soon as you've seen all the gadgets they go downhill.
