    Recommend a Foreign Language Movie

Opening this thread with one from Korea

Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter ... and Spring

A monk in a remote retreat is raising a boy in his care when a sick girl and her mother come to visit.

Intersting meditiation on morality, the cycles of life, spirituality, sexuality, love, betrayal and passion.

    Beautiful landscapes and photography.

For an action film, I always liked the original Nikita movie (in French) from 1990.

Well my recommendation of A Prairie Home Companion was roundly panned so you may be onto something here 99, however I am confident that a foreign movie thread will turn up a few gems.

I would rather watch a 10 year old or subtitled diamond than a recently released turd - which many of them seem to be.

    Kurosawa. Ran.

Japanese film influenced by King Lear.

Actually, pretty much anything by Kurosawa.

The Tit And The Moon,Spanish La Teta y la luna.
The film is about a nine-year-old boy's (Biel Durán as Tete) obsession with women's breasts. Tete becomes jealous of his baby brother who is breast fed by their mother. Tete goes on a personal mission to find the perfect pair of lactating breasts to feed on. A beautiful Portuguese dancer (Mathilda May) arrives in town, the answer to Tete's prayers. Unfortunately for Tete, Estrellita is the attention of many men's affections including her husband Maurice (Gérard Darmon), an older man working as the other half of her travelling act, and attractive Flamenco-singing teenager, Miguel (Miguel Poveda). With this amount of competition will Tete fulfil his wish?

They might spell stuff a bit funny and call autumn 'fall' but USA is not really foreign language - 1 point for trying though since 'Leon' is a great movie.

Even if the US movie has been dubbed into some slavic lingo that does not really count either.

"La Cage Aux Folles" (The Birdcage). About two gay men, one of whom is a female impersonator. Very funny; even funnier in French. One for Looper.

You retard - Leon is a French movie by Luc Besson.

Hollywood always copies the good shit and claims it as their own.

Steamy Thai nights provide the backdrop for unbridled romance, crime and action in this Thai movie I downloaded for me and the Missus a few years back.

After 10 minutes you realise it's about 2 fudge packers, but hey, some on here may enjoy it

There was no 'original french version'. It was an English language film directed by a French director.
