I'm not sure she should be happy with that award. Quite sexist really. Wouldn't she rather be recognised as a female that has released ground-breaking music that has shook the very foundations of what was once a minority sub-genre of music like Babymetal has?

BBC 6 Music it is Peel's legacy. I had really kind of fallen out with music, until I found 6 music.. the love affair has been back on ever since. They often use eclecticism to wallpaper over tosh, but without that tosh you wouldn't find the gems. Lot's of new stuff and quite often showcases of seminal music that Peel would be proud of. The other day it was 'Peep Show' by Siouxsie and the Banshees, to mark it's digital reissue... I honestly didn't hear the album when it originally came out, but it was stunning just how contemporary it sounded, showing what a subliminal influence their sound has on the modern scene. It's BBC but can be found on any digital player of course

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

    Wrong thread, KW.

This one's for awesome, ground-breaking, new music. Speaking of which here's a track called Headbanger. You may remember knowing some headbangers back at school. They were the ones who grew their hair long, smelled a bit funny and maintained an academic level just above special needs. Here's Babymetal adding a touch of class and moving headbangering towards a more respectible artform...

Note the Japanese horror movie influence in the video. Good stuff.
Some people think it don't, but it be.
