Room for two oldies. Lovely jazz influence.
Nice.
Just found this one. Daaaaaamn!
A lot of this thread is a lost 45 thread. Oldies or odd but goodies.
Jesus what a strange collection, none of them hits apart from one remake and the Pee Sadert number. The ch 7 version of monrak luktung was a hit and it's been done several times, last one was three years ago. Here is the original film from 1970, one of the most important and influential Thai films ever made it's almost unwatchable today due to neglect, just look at how they value the past, idiots.
I just mean it as a way of saying the lost songs of the past.
You should die by bullets. So timely. Everlasting.
The finest Thai music film ever made Monrak Transistor in some way a tribute to the singer Suraphol Sombatcharoen who was murdered after a concert in August 1968, probably by another singer. He was the king of luktung and started out with kratae records in 1952 then he sung ramwong in the style of Benjamin who was a star at the time. This is the full film- oh this version has no subs but there are ones about that have.

My favorite Thai film, too. A Thai film major introduced me to it. It's what I knew from Thailand when I came here. Great one, Xanax and anyone who doesn't know Thailand should watch it. Great film.
^^That is a very old luktung song, can't remember who sang it, might even be from monrak luktung, I know it was recorded by Pem Peyyom in 1994. Bugger, is it a Sayan Sanyar song? I'll have to get me cd out. Mr Lick that one of yours is Pee Sadeart as well, just a kid pissing about to the track by the look of it.

I always associate this with the Odd Couple theme(Felix Ungar-Oscar Madison) in my mind for some reason. I guess it has a slight 50s-60s sound to it in my view. It's the first Thai song I got. Just me and what I get from it.
Can't stand st-ring I prefer luktung, lukrung and morlam. This is one of the greatest luktung and lukrung singers Sunaree Rachesima, I went to this concert in 2010, however she was not the best singer on that day:
This guy, Maitai, has been pretty popular in recent years up our way in Esarn.
Mai Tai used to double with luk pray in Nok Nois band for many years- Seang Issan. He is a bit of a tit and had a fight on stage and had to leave. He then went to Grammy but is back with Top Line Diamond again. Went out with a Nok Noi dancer once she told me a few things about him, not one of my favourites. He was in the news last year for having a very young girlfriend and for his tour bus running over and killing a worker sleeping underneath still, lets hope he has better luck this year!
He's one of the few singers I have yet to get an album signed by cos he always clears off pretty quick. Baksidur is his best song.
