    Satellite TV for apartment block

    and.....

what is the best/cheapest way to supply satellite TV to an apartment block?

I presume each flat would need their own box, but what about the dish and supplier?

    Best- True Visions

Cheapest- I will go ask today what they use in the guesthouses near me. I think they have CNN, Australian Network a couple of shite sports channels and about 80 Thai channels.

I should imagine if your apartments are going to be lived in by mainly Farangs, they would prefer True

Depends much on how many flats and the cable length but in general you need a multiswitch and good quality (low-loss) coax cable from each flat to the multiswitch.

haha, I have the WETV digital service which consists of the most banal crap you could ever see, complete rubbish

monthly rates are Ok and the normal analog offering has a few news channels and film channels in English; no real sports or porn

I have just been talking to a chap who does satellite TV; he can supply a dish and cabling and box for each apartment for about B4000; the service costs B300 a month for each and has 100s of channels including all the ones you want/need

I need more info on him and his channels, but a friend uses him for her apartments and says it is great

so maybe if I wire up each apartment to the dish and multiswitch, the tenant can choose to use his service or not

they would pay the initial B3000 for the box and B300 a month for a good service

they could pass the box on to the next tenant, if required

I am going to have it installed in my house to try it out
    I have reported your post

Does this system require an internet line?
If so you'll have constant loss of signal during the rainy season.

^ I don't think so: I thought the internet line gave you a constant signal but the dishes can be screwed by bad weather

Yep, the signal still comes to the dish. I think the internet connection is to keep your decoder up to date but correct me if I'm wrong.

that seems to be the case, you could also do the update manually with a USB drive

Dont know exactly how it works, but every time there was a heavy downpour I'd lose my tv signal and my internet connection would be down too. As soon as the internet was up and running again the tv signal returned also.

it depends on how you receive the signal, obviously

you can get your "satellite" TV through a broadband connection without the need for a dish

I'm pretty sure you're going to need at least a 1MB/s download speed internet connection for that system to work properly- I had a guy try to switch me over from True just a couple of days ago for the same deal (same channels as True plus some others, some HD, etc).
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Card sharing requires about 16 bytes per key exchange.

You don't need massive bandwidth, but latency can be an issue.

Key changes on more popular channels (e.g. premier league) are often several times a day (sometimes even more), so once again Butters is talking hilariously misguided shit.

I have visions of him running between his Pentium III Windows XP box and his decoder, frantically trying to keep up.

The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth

silly cock as usual, since some of those TV services would do the flashing for you with a USB drive, so not sure what you are on again

must have been an overdose of XBOX from your NYE tournament,

So how does that work when they might rekey half a dozen times during a live match then?

You really are a dumb fuck.

    But happy new year!

I was offered a cheap TRUE service from a dish, but also needed the internet connection that changed the codes automatically, instantly

I have seen it working very well in a friend's bar

I have three at home, providing European and Middle East pay tv and some cracking porn, although my garden resembles a CIA listening station.
