I cooked up 4 haggises (haggi?) last night, mashed neeps, mashed tatties, carrots and parsnips mashed together, white puddings and a home made whisky sauce.

Went down well in the bar.

Traditionally, any non-jocks that want to sample our culinary delights get handed a Burn's poem to recite first.

    The outcome is hilarious.

    To us, anyway.

As per your repo question, all for me, Willy.

I may consider doing the porchetta for a Sunday roast in the bar if there's interested parties.

Jeez. What is that white stuff on top? (oh, I do hope not). But I am sure it must taste better than it presents- how could it possibly not.

Another great British dish on the way at the moment from hal's kitchen. Chorizo and chicken in a cream infused tomato sauce with pasta.

    Photos on the way tomorrow.

    God bless British cooking.

Because they're not offal? Don't get me wrong, I'd give haggis a try, but damn, sheep's lungs? I do rather like grits, with butter and honey.

I can't wait to see what it looks like cooked and I do wish there was a way to post up smells. Baked lungs in oatmeal has to be .... unique.

Maybe take it up with the French, Italians and Spanish or many other Europeans? Very common in their/our cooking: Offal - Wikipedia

Maybe "unique" in the land of doughnuts topped with bacon and fast food, less so in Europe.

A lot of the best dishes in the world originated from peasant cooking; you used what was available to you.

    Not ordered from McDonalds.

To be honest, I thought, in my ignorance haggis was all sheep parts, I didn't realize how much a part that beef offal plays in the dish.

Speaking of lamb... and there's nothing 'offal' about his...

The daughter had been away for three days.. the first time ever, so I thought I'd spoil her when she came home.

    Yes, Shepherd's Pie

    On small side plates...

I'll soon be away for a couple of days, during which I very much doubt there will be peas or sprouts on offer.

Make hay while the sun's out...

Yeah, she's a good little veg eater.

I would say that after the pla ra, semi-raw cockles, fermented fish and assortment of pickled veg that the Thai contingent consumes, my meager contributions after a few sprouts is negligible.

It smells like a fukkin zoo in this bedroom some nights.

It's the spices that make it.

I bought a Haggis last week to try for the first time, smelt of black pudding so I gave it the dog.

    He enjoyed it.

Given the food crimes you are responsible on this board for it does not surprise me that you gave something unfamiliar and loaded with spices to the dog.

Dd you have beans on toast instead?
