It’s not often. Couple days after thanksgiving I’ll be eating defrosted chicken soup for three days.

We are in Miami for a few nights and taking advantage of the variety. Yesterday we found a new place and this evening we visited a place we used to frequent often, before Covid.

    Fish ceviche

Seafood Creole - with Lobster, Shrimp, Scallops, Mussels, Clams in a Creole Sauce with yellow rice and maduros

    Key lime

    Marlow patiently waiting for scraps

I thought I would digest the news that the Donald is throwing his hat in the ring with a Micky D's double trouble bonza Big Mac

    Dinner-img_20221118_212517-jpg

Is Biden going to be the bun slice in between a vanishingly rare double presidency?

Is the Trumpster going to Make America Great Again (Again)?

Bombay , a new Indian restaurant opened up near by in Khon Kaen , so we decided to give it a try.
The place was tastefully done and has a lovely courtyard with tables that would be nice after the sun goes down , but we went during the day and sat inside.
To start with a couple of vegetable pakoras and onion bhaji both delicately spiced and a meal in themselves
and for dinner I had lamb vindaloo and wife had chicken tikka masala , both done to perfection IMO. It was their first day soft opening and we might have been their first customers, so not sure if they were trying harder in which case the quality might decline or were getting their act ready, and the quality would become even better, but the food was enjoyable , the staff was friendly, and the prices reasonable,

Grilled me up a few hamburgers for dinner.

10% lean Australian grass fed ground beef.

Added a few slices of Tillamook sharp cheddar cheese and toasted the buns

Condiments prepped and will add spicy mustard and Heinz ketchup

BAM....Fat burger fresh off the grill.

    ^ Nice!

Chips are rarely on my menu these days apart from when I catch a nice pla nin from the pond, but last week we ran out of potatoes.

Maybe these Northerners are on to something?

    I'll be doing this again!

We had a power cut this afternoon and I was worried we'd have to eat 'Qatari style'.

    ... with no fans!

But thankfully the leccy came back on and so did the fans along with the convection oven.

Pork chops with my new dish of baked red cabbage with chopped onion and apple. A dash of vinegar, a blob of butter and what's not to like?

    No stodge there.

Finished off with a warm strawberry cupcake accompanied by a multicultural trifecta of chocolate ice cream with added vanilla.

Fantastic to see some great British cooking, Mendip ...and some moisture on the plate!

Some of those dishes our friends from across the pond serve up look drier than Gandhi's flip flop.

Dinner for me this evening is a MENA inspired minced beef dish with couscous.
