I thought this beef stir fry was damn reasonable tonight, the dog turned his nose away, the indignation!

Not picking on ya Chitty, but what the hell is this? Is that rice being cooked? With some kind of sauce? Just a little tip if you are going to use rice you need to simply make a nice dry fried rice. Maybe stop winging it and try a recipe, it can help.

Looks like he's cooked an oversauced beef dish, then thrown rice in and ended up with something approximating lumpy wallpaper paste.

Well, I had my garlic dinner on Thursday night and things are still pretty ripe on Saturday morning. I'll cook it longer next time.

But I do put up with an awful lot living with two bladdy females so I think a bit of give and take is fair enough.

The peas are where the Brooks beans used to be. Brooks beans haven't been available here for months.
Just out of shot to the left is an empty space, they are all out of Ayam's too!

Do you not mix the sauce and pasta before serving?

SS put in a hard day at her new job

    Dinner-img_20221105_192942-jpg

So I was on dinner duty and I had cunningly arranged to freeze a portion of Rogan Josh (left) and a portion of Tandoori (right) from the last 2 batches

    Dinner-img_20221105_211958-jpg

SS got to smell the aroma and choose, and the fruity Tandoori was the lady's choice running out a hands down winner. I was happy with my earthy Rogan Josh.

I always mix a very small amount of sauce liquid to keep the pasta from sticking together when refrigerated. My Mom used to heat and melt butter and drench the pasta with. A much better, and tasty option IMO, but I did not have any butter and was to lazy to go out and get any.

That really looks good. Definitely a better picture than mine.
You guys in the states are lucky being able to get quality grown beef with different percentage of fat content. Here in LOS I had to buy beef cuts from the morning market (there is a place that has it, but most places have pork) and I grind my own.
Initially I had issues with Thai beef, but this time it was pretty good, I even made a few hamburgers whose taste was not masked by sauce, and I have to say, They were pretty good.

Yep. Pretty standard practice BB. Usually as soon as pasta is drained it goes back in the pot and a big spoonful of sauce is poured in and mixed around with a small pour of olive oil.

I also enjoy the sauce over penne or rigatoni and some grated mozzarella cheese and baked until cheese is just starting to lightly brown.

I almost always use spicy Italian sausage, but this time I used ground beef. Next time it is back to the sausage as it just gives the marinara so much more flavor.

I like to make use of my weekends and you motivated me to take an inventory of my baked beans this morning, Shutree.

Things aren't as bad as I feared... I have three tins of proper beans left, including one tin of Brook which are like Hen's teeth at the moment.
