    ^ Fantastic!

It was beef stew here tonight.

I have to plan meals hat don't require the gardener's microwave to finish up... it looks even worse in real life than in the picture. I poured some of the stew over the veg at the end to warm it back up.

Once the Kommandant has retired poor old Dan sneaks in for a treat every night. Her back legs are now so weak she has trouble walking on the slippery tiles so I have to carry her back to her bed afterwards, via the lawn for a wee. Dan had her own small bowl of beef stew tonight and loved it.

    Money...

I remember that our local Makro used to stock frozen wild boar meat, along with other exotics like crocodile, water buffalo, venison and rabbit, but they don't seem to have any of it any more.

There's salad in there, it's not a great pic but you can see lettuce, tom, and onion in there. But it's not about the salad, it's about a weighty portion of Lamb doner meat and garlic mayo and that's what she always delivers on!

No point then , you always have to go through that moment of regret when you realise they have splodged a load in one spot and you've bitten into it and its almost inedible its so hot, then the rest is pure enjoyment, followed afterwards by further regret you ate it in the first place and promise yourself you won't do that again.

That looks good aside from one thing, the broccoli, and don't get me wrong I love broccoli but not in a stew. I am even ok with your super generous portion of peas.

^ Yeah, I know what you mean Snubs but I take every opportunity I can to get some veg down the daughter. The carrots were cooked in the stew but the broccoli (and peas) was cooked separately to stop it going mushy.

Tonight we're having beef stew with runner beans and sprouts for a change. If you can imagine that it saves me posting a picture!

With generous portions of peas, of course.

Sounds good. Runner beans are not too common here, as we just have what is referred to as green beans. I do love those. Enjoy!

I won't be doing a stew until the fall, and then I am sure that Chitty will slag off my stew like he always does.

Broccoli has no business being in a stew.

^^ Snubs, I'm not sure about the correct bean terminology these days. These things I have are Thai long beans, but they are green and the closest I've found over here to English runner beans. They're long as well. Whatever you call 'em, they taste good with some butter, salt and pepper.

^ Mate, it was 'on' the stew, not 'in' the stew.

Pedantic maybe, but an important distinction I feel.
