Looks like the remnants of a pork hock?
^ Is that 'she' Willy by any chance?
Gammon shank
A pre-Euro football bangers and potatoes tonight.
A nice colourful meal to celebrate the football.
Some bright orange carrots for the Dutch... but they've gone home. Some red cabbage for the Portuguese... but they've gone home.
Some black burnt bits on the sausages for the Germans... but they're on their way home.
And some green peas for the Irish... but they never even turned up!
^ Lazy Bangers and mash but Nostradamus has nothing on this guy and his dog
^^A well smashable Wembley feast there Mendip - championey
Pizza Al Funghi al fresco per la Signorina de Surigao...
...champignoney
^Nice.
Is that a mango tree in blossom in the background?
I made up a batch of steak and kidney pies for the freezer yesterday. The daughter's on her school holidays so now her real education starts.
Not bad at all... a family favourite... apart from the wife who preferred some stinking chilli sauce concoction with rice.
And a fruit platter for dessert.
Clockwise from top right: lychee, lamyai, longon and rambutan (I think).
And without their skins on.
Spaghetti Bolognese tonight...
^ Sorry mate, but you're doing something wrong.
I don't think it's your food cos we know that the food is great.
Stop using the flash for food pics... it will transform your cooking. It did for me!
Edit: sorry, it looks lovely, by the way!
^ Very nice!
Yesterday for the greatest country in the world's birthday, I decided on an 'Merican classic....
Was it the classic, All American burger? Of course not? A hotdog with onions and mustard? Too easy and the hotdogs here taste like the anus of a chipmunk. I'll start a thread on that story in time.
My meal to celebrate America's birthday, was the classic:
Fancy Chili Mac and Cheese
You will dare ask, "What made it fancy?" Well, rather than using the typical box of Kraft Mac and Cheese, I decided to make it an upscale version by using Velveeta's Shell's and Cheese.
Yes, no expense was spared!
To create this All American dish, we (meaning the wife) cooked the shells and cheese as a luncheon side along with hotdogs. Nothing better complements a hotdog that tastes reminiscent of a chipmunk's posterior. Needless to say there was a bountiful amount of the pasta with cheese leftover.
That afternoon, I (meaning I asked my wife to make, using my best whining voice) to make my signature chili, so I might combine the pasta and chili to make this perfect dish you see below. Garnished with the last of the pepperoncini, it was a delightful dinner repast. I paired it with a bottle of distilled water as I had to teach later in the evening.
Perfection....
"I was a good student. I comprehend very well, OK, better than I think almost anybody," - President Trump comparing his legal knowledge to a Federal judge.
My kids had Mac and cheese with bacon for lunch yesterday, but I made it from scratch. Yours looks better!

Nice...and bacon does make everything taste better. It helps balance the carbs from the pasta and the fat from the cheese by adding protein, which makes it a healthy choice as well.
As a kid, mom would make mac and cheese and add those fake bacon bits to it. I loved it, even though I knew the bacon bits were nothing more than bacon flavored salt. Thank fuc....fook she didn't serve it with peas or brussels sprouts. We ate healthy back then!
Tonight I asked my daughter what her favourite food in the whole wide world is?
She said, 'steak and kidney pie'... which made me immensely proud.
Then she told me that her Nan's - my mum's - steak and kidney was her best ever and mine came in second. This pissed me off slightly until I thought about it and realised that a global 1 and 2 ain't bad... and who minds losing to their mum?
In Makro last week I found these mini aluminium pie cases which are absolutely prefect. I made a load of pies for the freezer.
I've never before been a fan of pies in cases on the plate... but it felt just like eating in an English pub... apart from no cider and no friends to talk to. And instead of chips, some veg.
Absolutely delicious... second best pie in the world!
And a couple of other meals in the week...
Ribs with coleslaw and potato salad.
And last night, moo palo. The pork was way too fatty but the dogs got the fat. I continue to explore 'fusion food' and added some peas.
Anglo-Chinese food. Lovely!
That Ribs and potato salad is a favourite of mine.
The Great British Chippy dinner...
Nothing puts the colour back in your face a spring in your step than the 1/4 kilo Sirloin, mountain of buttery mashed potatoes and a volcano of gravy..
Very nice!
