Agreed, but sometimes it's nice to mix it up.

Would hate to ever not have a choice of being able to get good beef or lamb, both are sooooo nice to eat..

I have no idea what I am looking at. It looks terrible. I feel pity for the toad.

I don’t know what that is, either. I might eat it though.

Wow... that's brought back some memories. I just bought a load of sausages today as well!

I used to get toad in the hole once a week as a kid... on Tuesdays I think it was. Goes great with baked beans, or failing that, just some tomato sauce.

A Green for the memory... owed!

    Oh for goodness sake.

Toad in the Hole with anything but mash, peas and onion gravy is a crime.

Those sausages look on the mummified side, though.

I had beans as well but can't get my head around them together. I was going to nip to Villa to get a shepherds pie and Yorkshire pudding but didn't have the motivation. No idea how long that had been in the freezer... It wasn't a great dinner tbh.
I'd like to see what morning looks like
Don't wanna drink pint after pint
I wanna wake up without feeling sick
    But I can't cuz I'm a drug-abusing alcoholic

    This got me thinking.

Thursday was sausages, mash and beans day because I did a paper round and the UK weather was not kind when delivering 100+ newspapers at 5/6pm.

Friday was normally a takeaway day. Nuggets and fries with a strawberry milkshake from maccy ds. The smell it made in the car on the drive home, and the bag chips..! Or a burger from the local Turkish takeaway

^ I know that Saturday dinner time (lunch time these days) was always mince and tatties with rice pudding.

I normally had a mystery meat burger/hot dog at the match if anything (I would have also played in the mornings for school too, so it was on the run), but I don't remember being able to settle down and eat something at the weekend until late Sunday afternoon, which was either a roast or, if we'd been playing/watching football and it was really late, an Indian takeaway.

Friday's were always "fish" Fridays though, as a God-fearing Catholic (even though I hated fish and had sausage/píe instead).

    You do have nice hands.

I can't believe I always had toad in the hole with beans when almost every meal I had back then came with peas... hence my life long addiction. Maybe it's a North - South thing?

It's very rare that I need any prompting to have peas these days... but here we are...

I've got the sausages, so this week will be a homemade toad in the hole with mash, peas and gravy.

Another week with with a purpose!
