That fish and chips looks superb. I recall in my childhood, a meal wasn't a meal unless there was bread and butter on the side.

Anyway, had a request from M'Sahib today for more macaroni. This time with a chopped tomato, diced onion and garlic, and fresh green and red chilli sauce. Topped it with mature cheddar. That was for her, I'm still on leftover cottage pie.

Robin Hood Tavern, in the old Shenanigans location from loooong ago in case you don't know it. Up 1 flight of stairs at the front of The Avenue on 2nd Road. Nobody has ever been able to make that location work, but since these guys took it over it just keeps getting better. I cannot recommend it highly enough, the food is excellent, reasonably priced, and it's our favourite casual eatery in town by far.

    ^ Cheers mate. Much appreciated.

I am just on the verge of opening a mini Shenanigan's style place on the Darkside but with a pool, live music and a gym with accomodation.

To take the missus to such a place will help me set her standards as I cannot even boil an egg.

They make their own as a special occasionally, curried chicken, chicken and ham, and chunky lamb. Haven't tried one yet, but the reviews are always good.

That looks good, fooking useless plate tho, you'll just end up scraping the gravy back on from the table cloth. Erm well some lower end will... with their saapooon.

All joking aside Loy, good luck if you and Mrs Loy go for it.

To make a fish and chip butty with. You can't have chips without a couple of slices of bread and butter on the side.

Well we are going to give it a go and if it does not work nothing lost as the pub is located on our existing property.

We have converted the bungalow known as the Love Shack by certain members here, added 2 bedrooms upstairs, modified the pool to increase the covered balcony area and improved the parking area by covering part of it.

Basically we have all the fittings and fixtures already including a drum kit and sound system so just putting things to use.

Most would consider opening a pub/ restaurant in these difficult times is foolish but we accept the challenge.

Good luck to you and your good lady Loy, ignore my joshing earlier.

If you are going with your plot then you'd don't have much to lose. You have a supply of homemade grub and if you don't aim too high, start small and don't sweat making too large a profit then you can probably turn a coin even in these times. Get a reputation and aim for a select market and you'll weather most storms (a la BogonInParasite but with an entertainment slant), you can always dial down the bits that don't work. Good luck with it.

    ^ Cheers mate.

We aim to offer cold beers and good food at a fair but not stupid price.

To be honest my only real interest in the place is to play live music at least once a week.

Oh and I will not have to venture out to have a beer anymore which pleases the missus.

    Nev, I'm impressed.

When you were young ... you can remember back that far?

Rumors have it, that was a long, long time ago

If I can ever step on a fucking plane again, I'll have to pop in to your place for a pint.

Always an, err, interesting trip to Pattaya.

The council are ripping my house down to solve a major flooding problem.

Another reason I have built the bedrooms as short term housing for the family until I can start the new major dwelling.
