If having steak or lamb, I like to have jus (or as the French call it "au jus". instead of gravy.

    100% gravy if Sunday roast.

You can not get that at most American steakhouses I have been in but whatever floats your boat.

^Why would American steakhouses need any other sauce besides ketchup

I'd say that If you are eating it with salad, then definitely not, but with lyonaisse or mashed spuds then certainly.

Also with chips I wouldn't want gravy anywhere near unlike some Neanderthal sodium lovin' Northerners on here

I reckon that you should eat the steak the way you want it cooked and ...

You should be able to eat it with a condiment, or not, in any quantity that you want.

Fuck the food critics ... you paid for it ... eat it how you like

Chips with salad cream sounds good if you're five.

The gravy on steak question is almost the hot potato of a subject as beans or peas.

When there's spuds and boiled veg involved the gravy is a yes imho.
    Steak and chips, definitely not.

When making the gravy, always use the juices left from the boiled veggies to add more flavour and nutrients.

    Steak with jacket potato today....hmmm...
    Gravy or no gravy?

Managed to get my hands on some veal yesterday, so I'm gonna have a stab at osso buco with polenta later today.

My pot wasn't big enough to fit the veal in...

..however, there were some throwaway oven trays in a drawer which have saved the day!

Let's see the results from the oven in a couple of hours time.

^^^ Aunt Bessies spuds and Yorkies? Pure laziness. Snakey's looks far more appetising.

And what the fuck is with that amount of sodium dense fukking bisto? Do you take the dessert spoon to that?
    I feel physically sick
