    ^ Saves the washing up..

    ^^
    Not a bad first effort
Here's the recipe, plus they dont need par boiling, just cutting thicker and taking out around 30-35 mins. Most of those were like crisps. Great flavour though.

^ not yet be in a few days and it will go in the slow cooker, i figured another few days won't make them 9-11 months out of date. I reckon the reason i never used it was the last time i did a Vindaloo / Madras mix the next day my lips peeled. Anyway shhh before Ron pops in and tells us off.

The wife had steamed chicken last night, so I boiled it up today and chicken soup it was tonight!

With bread and butter for dunking.

I always like some cheese if I'm dunking bread in soup. I used some lovely smoked Cheddar tonight, mainly because the littlun doesn't like smoked cheese.

She seems to like smoked cheese now, the little bugger!

^ i'm not sure how three words can simultaneously say so much about a person and be so wrong, apart from when you lift the drape and utter "Its a cock!!!!"

I beg to differ, par boiling for 5 mins then seasoned in salt, pepper,Piri Piri flakes then gently coated in duck fat is the way to go.
Leaves the skin's on and chop roughly and unevenly for extra variety and flavour.

Mine look better and I suspect taste a lot nicer also!

There's only one way to settle this!!!

    A wedge off!

Yesterday the wife went into Bangkok for a medical checkup. So, dinner yesterday was KFC – no pix.

Todays dinner’s Woon Sen and Fish.

Continuing to make my way through my mum's old recipes and in some cases reliving childhood memories. Today it is a bread, butter and jam pudding.

^ nice ^ you'll be needing a lot of custard for that!

You're obviously from a rich/classy background to have jam in your bread and butter pudding!

I haven't eaten potato wedges in about four months, but I used to like the ones you buy from the grocery store that are already made in the store, and are crispy with a tasty seasoning. I've never made them myself, but they both look good! Different strokes for different folks!

I went way outside of my comfort zone last night and made a lasagne.

My recipe doesn't mess about with bechamel sauce and stuff, just layers of pasta with mozzarella cheese. I found a bag of grated mozzarella cheese at the back of the fridge with a sell by date of June 2017, and it smelt bad so I dispensed with that idea. So, lasagne made with layers of pasta with cheddar cheese it was! Incidentally, however to you stop the pasta sheets from sticking together when you boil them up?

I don't know if Nonna would approve, but not too bad at all. And not a dog to be seen!

I forgot to do any chips, so it wasn't like a real lasagne to be honest.

And for pudding... probably my last mango upside down cake of the season. The mango stock is getting low and also judging from my weight I'm starting to think that these mango puddings with ice cream are full of calories.

A big shout to KW for this one... an extra big pinch of salt and the cake rose so much that it started to split!

Turned her over without incident... and my best yet!

Last night we had hot custard for a change...

And yes, I was awake by 2am with heartburn.

I have been eating lasagna for over 60 years and making it for over 50. I have never heard of chips with lasagna. I made up a chicken and mushroom lasagna the other day. First time I have made one with a mushroom cream sauce rather than tomato based.. The slice I had the other night.
