You mentioned my name without a gardener joke... are you OK?

I hope your wife survived her Dutch ovening last night... but I'm interested in your Scotch egg recipe. The lockdown chickens I bought a couple of weeks ago are starting to lay and we're getting around 15 eggs a day now, and I need to use them up. Did you mix the sausage meat with with the beef mince? And in what proportions? I can no longer get slabs of sausage meat in Korat and I don't really want to just use sausages. Would pork mince be a better mix do you think? That's maybe not so easy to get in Malaysia for you.

Last night for us was my standard baked chicken breast... Dan pushed open the back door and popped in as well, she loves a bit of chicken...

... but she forgot to shut the door after herself and there was some fly hatch last night with all this rain. This took some explaining to the Commandant in the morning.

Followed by the last of the mango and blueberry crumble with ice cream.

I'm considering a mango upside-down cake today. Eggs and mangoes, we're over run by 'em.

That looks lovely, Mendip, really nice grub.

BTW, you haven't been caught recently by the gardener having a 'scotch egg' out the back, have you?

Scotch eggs are nearly always a mix of meat, and I would always use pork.

I made some once using prawns that come up well.

And just like that, another TD word is born... Not sure it has the legs of Shifter, but to have a "Scotch Egg" will be used...

Papillion is probably having a Scotch Egg over his reminisce of Emma as we speak. Oh, sweet, Emma, she hasn't had much coverage on TD for a while...

    Cycling should be banned!!!

Probably because this is the dinner thread, not the desserts thread!

    Peas might work nicely.

But, back to reality - this evening the head chef provides a simple dinner of spicy pork with Thai eggplant along with soup of radish and vegetables. Desert of Papaya and Rambutan.

Fish and chips tonight. Since the disaster in our pond I bought a bag of frozen cod fillets at Makro, but when frying them up they just fell apart. The fillets seemed to be full of water... I've noticed that with sausages and bacon at Makro as well. It was nice to get the flavour of cod though after being so used to tilapia, but it certainly wasn't a photogenic meal.

Pudding was mango upside down cake with ice cream. This hit the spot, and used up another four mangoes (out of about 1500)...

Pushing boundaries at Chez Chitty tonight.
Bought a 2kilo duck and havn't got a clue what to do with it.
Might just shove an orange up its arse and sling it in the oven.
Might go nice with chips, beans and gravy...

^ 555 ADSA reduced price - saw one 3 weeks ago reduced to £5 but didn't go for it. Just roast it and use the fat for the roasties. Avoid oranges at all costs.
