It was either that or a normal one with reduced salt. Those things are never good.

Since the sequestration, we've been ordering in 5-6 nights a week from Thai-Chinese restaurants. As a result, I've learned quite a bit about the incredible number of choices available. Tonight's dinner: stir-fried sunflower seed sprouts, fried tofu with salt and chilis, and steamed local clams with Thai basil on steamed rice.

Would you like a drizzle of mashed to go with your gravy?

Looks very healthy. I could dig into that. Love the bendy straws in the drinks.

'tis good stuff - I lucked out in the marriage game. Never knew she could cook when we got hitched.

Healthy - probably, Thai seasoning may impact the healthiness. Absolutely delicious minimizes my healthiness concern - if I don't exercise the pounds or kilos do add up.

Bendy straws - for class acts only

^^ Funny how things turn out... I knew my wife could cook before we got hitched... good cook as well. These days I'd have to draw a map for her to find the kitchen. Your wife there Bowie has cooked more dishes for one meal than mine would in a month.

But anyway... for a real class act, get yerself some metal straws. Ditch that plastic!

To expand on the cooking issue a bit - I worked in Bangkok 25+ years ago - we/my wife (girlfriend at the time) did lots of restaurant stuff, home cooked meals were by her older sisters. Asian financial crisis - money dried up - I repatriated back to the USA and invited my girlfriend to join me - she took a chance (didn't speak a word of English) and it worked. Had to wait six months in Bangkok without a paycheck for her US immigration visa - another story.

Once she was in the States I found out just how good a cook she is.

Food is so cheap in Thailand - why bother cooking and the associated cleaning of cookware, dishware and utensils.

The only reason she cooks now is boredom with "Sheltering in Place" cooking gives her something to do.

Straws - metal straws are a health hazard virtually impossible to clean correctly and I'm not about to boil water to sterilize straws. Next go around I'll try to purchase paper straws. I purchased the plastic straws in bulk at Makro a couple yeas ago and probably still have 2-3 years supply left.

"Life's Been Good To Me So Far"

My best to you and yours
