So, this Shelter in Place protocol is providing for considerable home cooked meals relative to our usual travels

Tonight - spicy New Zealand beef and soup of a fine selection of finely chopped - not quite minced vegetables.

Quite enjoyable. Dessert will be a variety of Thai fruits, watermelon, cantaloupe, papaya and mango

In case it's of any help to fellow carnivores, Macro currently has a promo on Aussie beef till the end of this month and I'd suggest that you couldn't buy the same meat in Australia at these prices.






So I bought a whole cube roll (aka rib-eye aka scotch fillet) with the idea of cooking a few steaks this evening and freezing the rest.




Got 9 good steaks out of it of about the size I like, plus the oddly shaped end-cap which Mrs Worx put dibs on


Tasted ok! I've bought better here but have paid double or triple this price to get it. Will go back before the EOM and buy some more for the freezer, maybe a whole tenderloin this time.


Normally just buy it, but with total boredom in place and nothing better to do I made my own potato-egg salad today for the first time this century. Needs some work

^ add some chopped chives mate... transforms potato salad.

^What I need to do is buy another tub of potato-egg salad from the deli at Foodland (which is where I've been buying it from forever) and pay some attention to how they're making and with what ingredients it so I can copy it .

I normally prefer some chips, large mushie with garlic butter and Toms but you have to adapt in these time of shortage.
