Soups are easy to make, tasty, and the only way I can get my youngest daughter to eat vegetables. Cook and blend and she'll happily scoff down onion, garlic, carrots, peppers, courgette, aubergine - you need that kind of nutrition in this day and age of coronafuckingbollox.

^^Half inch Cornflake chicken- Not nice

Here's a tip, get a Thai Mc Chicken. Tell them to hold the mayo, substitute that with salad cream and they nearly taste like the ones in the UK or Malaysia.

Brilliant thinking. Mine won't eat veg either. She's struggling with yesterdays dried up baked beans as we speak.

I thought about blindfolding her, it affects the taste of things I think, will try her on the soup.

^ They say that if you can't smell food, you can't taste it. So you want to block her nose while she eats... but that could be bordering on child abuse.

Anyway, my last 'traditional English' meal for a while...I'm going more 'international' from now on.

Trouble is... me daughter just loves this stuff!

Steak an' kidney pie with all the trimmings!

Bladdy 'ell, anyone else envisaging Desperate Dan?

Think it would take me 2 sleeps to get though one of those plates.

^Besides looking immanently eatable it's the plating that really catches the eye. I noticed Dill taking a bit of care of his presentations lately, and can only put it down to what's now known as The Mendip Effect

^ I must admit I have started taking a lot more care when plating up food, and may even have a paper towel to hand to wipe any spillages!

Embarrassingly enough, when I put the food down on the table, my daughter will ask if she can eat it yet, or do I need to take photos?

The whole thing is getting out of hand to be honest... but a man needs hobbies!

And I'm not even going to dignify that with a response!

(all morning I spent making those pies)

When The Mendip Effect wins TD CofTY 2020, do I get a best supporting poster award?

Let a poll decide Betts, although there will be some stiff competition

No offence intended Mendip, the oven tin appears to resemble a Fray Bentos tin base.
Take it as a complement on your puff pastry

So I take it all ingredients were freshly sourced then and never frozen?

    Oh someone is butthurt.

Maybe the poll should be more of who can reheat frozen and or canned shit and make it the most plateable? English cooking de jour.

Step one open the cupboard look for beans.

Step two go to the freezer and look for frozen shit to reheat.

Step three make it look fancy to the chavs.

Bloody hell Sommers, you have gone up in the world. Using proper spoons for your soup and everything!

Knocked a Bogon half point off for being a bit tight on the cheese with some of the bread.
