    Very nice everyone!!!!

"Go with what you know" is the motto for today in Hells kitchen.

    Fresh garlic,onions,tomatoes and basil.
Into the pot with 500grams of minced beef.
Add salt and pepper then leave to simmer.

Need to pop out to the shop and buy some pasta and a bottle or red.

Fvck it, I may stop off at the pub to wet my whistle.

Try adding a few flakes of nutmeg, for a "rounded" flavour.

Christ. Nutmeg has no place in food, it stays on the football field.

well, that had me scurrying to google:

Commonly understood in the UK (and maybe starting to take hold in the US too, given the fast rise of soccer within collegiate sports), the verb "to nutmeg" someone means to knock the ball between a defender's legs, either to get past him or indeed to score.

Not sure I follow the connection to myself and Ray regarding that BBQ sauce. You must have been in the piss.

As illustrated above, an elegant dance nowadays.

However genocides, bloody wars, invasions and the usual skulduggery fought throughout the centuries until "someone" cultivated it elsewhere, as was common practice and continued today in "innovative" ways.

    for this:

    Dinner-nutmeg-jpg

Myristica fragrans (fragrant nutmeg or true nutmeg)

That was during the barbarous and nasty European interloping periods in their backward attempts to secure the regions.
To be expected from an uncivilised lot as displayed throughout their history.

A good century [and more] earlier would find the more developed Ming China and Mughal India working in benign cooperation as applied to trading routes and tribute systems throughout most of Asia, Indian Ocean, and the Arab worlds.

Mostly Wagyu beef this evening and it was very expensive and very, very... average if I'm being honest.

The presentation is gaudy and over done.

I would rip into that beef though.

That pretty much describes the whole restaurant to be fair.

Anyways it wasn't bad just not great... Might've been expecting too much maybe.

Ant mate, you were taken. That is not Wangyu, not nearly the marbling, along with too big of a cut and poor presentation.

    this...

No I haven’t, been meaning to though as I’ve heard nothing but good things.

This place is called ‘Medium Rare’.

Was it a shared Tomahawk steak maybe?. Not a fan of that sort of thing, or the fancy presentation, in places like that it's definitely possible to want to stop for a burger on the way home after having spent plenty but still be hungry

^^ What temperature did you order the steak?

It could be the photo, but that is at least a medium going on to medium-well.

    EDIT

Just looked at their photos on social media and the food does look bloody good.

I'll have you know we went up market in Chez Chittys Hells kitchen last night.
Even bought some posh pasta and red Moldovian wine for the occasion.

"Go with what you know" flew out the window after wetting one's whistle and the sauce turned out to be ruddy horrible.

The pasta wasn't too bad ..

The money shot, topped with Red Leicester cheese...

    Verdict 2/10.

Gonna play safe tonight and have fish and chips.............. take away

The mushy peas are enough to forgive the ketchup intrusion- HP sauce all the way.
