Sometimes only a junk food fix will satisfy the urge...

It's filthy, but it's sooooooo good.

^ A quid for that tray and you use it every day... what a bargain!

As anyone who has kids will know, it's a constant battle to try and keep them interested in eating healthy (ish) food.

Last night I tried something different... creamy baked potatoes with onion and garlic (not sure what the official name is).

It would have been even better if I'd have used cream instead of milk, cooked the spuds a bit longer and added a bit more cheese... but despite being a bit watery and crunchy, not too bad at all!

And this probably didn't help slow my daughter's lockdown weight gain, or mine for that matter... but it put a smile on her face!

And now I'm just showing off!!!

After seeing Toppers steak I decided to do a local thick cu pork chop which is always great. Some garlic mash, along with mushrooms and onions. Found some leftover onion gravy in the freezer as well. Went down real nice.

You are not far off Potatoes au Gratin, but it generally does not have onions, and yes, cream instead of milk.

^ And a nice glass of milk.

I take an ice cold glass of milk to bed every night now and dunk cookies while I'm binge watching on Netflix. Tonight it'll be with the chocolate cake.

Gotta be better than alcohol but I'm still putting on weight!

So I had this London Broil marinading for 2 days and was very excited about it...

    Dinner-ezba7b4-jpg

So I had the grill warmed up outside and when I put it on I noticed that they sky had gone pitch black. I put the meat on the grill and went inside five minutes later I went out to flip it and noticed it started to rain. After another five minutes the damn sky opened up in a huge torrent. I decided to wait an extra couple of minutes hoping it would die down. It turned out to be a fool's errand...

    Dinner-qm0lngi-jpg

Overcooked to medium well. It was still edible but it could have been so much better like the last one I did...

Just did something similar with buttery mash and gravy made with a bit of apple cider vinegar and the juices from the pork steaks. Simple and satisfying.
