^Cod is the worst fish to freeze.

You are better off buying John Dory or risking one of Mendy's Pla Chubs

Today was larder restocking day – shopping – chef’s day off.
So, we picked up pre-cooked from Tops. Palo, Fish and Sushi.
Actually, all things considered - quite a good break, tasty and filling.

^ Nice Bowie! My missus used to do great Japanese food before we got married. Mind you, she also did... ahh, not now.

^^ I'm gonna ignore that as well.

Must admit I clicked on that icon over again to try and make it play...

I didn't realise Mendip used pla chub (did you mean pla chon?) for his "Scotch Eggs"...

As I mentioned before, it was one time and extremely discrete. I can't believe it's still an issue. The gardener's forgotten all about it already.

Tonight it was pan seared salmon. I try ad keep things interesting for the littlun, so I par boiled some potatoes before slicing and frying. Not sure about the official name...Daulphine or something? Anyway, they were great! A cheesy 'Roix', and we were away!

Good as it was... just a prelude to the main event.

Mango and lime upside down cake with a dollop of ice cream!

To be honest this was probably one of the nicest things I've ever eaten in my whole life... ever! The daughter even agrees!

Maybe I'm biased but it's true.

    ^^ Sauted... very nice

Now on to matters more pressing, at least for me. Can you make Sauerkraut with Tenderheart cabbage? Hal, i'll get back to you.

I saved some duck fat for a pizza tonight.
I forgot about it due to a 45min telephone conversation putting the world to rights with an old mucker.
Unfortunately the supper is cremated and my hopes and aspirations of a perfect pizza....

I had a little better luck with my fried fish. Probably my best effort yet. The fish...

With fries and slaw. Sorry about the blurry pic. By the time I realized the pic was blurry the food was gone.
