I doubt it'll be the only baked bean when Snubby wakes

Easy peasy spice-rubbed pork chops with an apple sauce made from the pan juices and some potato wedges.

    ^ Looks tasty.

I had a whirl at chicken stir-fry again this evening but just can't seem to get the hang of it. Oh well, it still tasted good.

Before adding the stir fry sauce:

Sauced(a packet with some additional add-ons):

On da plate with mound of jasmine rice:

Looks pretty sad compared to this:

    Must be my phone...

Yeah, it is. It's now been sliced and has become beer food. Even better

Most pictures are airbrushed and are bollox. Yours looks like most things I would eat from my better half's family and they always taste the dog's bollox when her sister is cooking. I'm sure yours was the same.

Thank you...though maybe I should have put the rice on the bottom like in the comparison photo. Might have been more photogenic.

Yeah, maybe. I did think that myself; image is everything these days pal.

That said, Chitty would have pan fried it and then cooked it in the pizza oven before putting it in the microwave om high with the squid for 30. Then boiled it with the fusion tapas and 3 Weetabix.
    Hi Chitty!

He'd have forgotten to take the packet off something.

Lamb's hearts, chicken hearts and ox hearts are delicious, but I have never tried big.

In Middle East diners on job sites over the years, there'd often be some sort of stewed or braised mystery meat in the bain marie's and when the cooks/waiters were asked what it was they just say meat. Got me a few times, the smallest bite into that shit (or fucking kidney) and that was the end of eating anything till the next meal time.

    Never touched them since.

For those who do not know. 'Faggots are meatballs made from minced off-cuts and offal, especially pork (traditionally pig's heart, liver, and fatty belly meat or bacon) together with herbs for flavouring and sometimes added bread crumbs. It is a traditional dish in the United Kingdom, especially South and Mid Wales and the English Midlands.'

Love offal! cooked well, it's delicious. Where do you think your chuck steaks or chicken filets come from? It's all meat.

Sneering at offal is just one step along the road to becoming vegan!

    reds for all of you

^ I don't understand this resistance to offal either!

Liver and kidneys I eat regularly, but heart rarely. Those skewers of barbecued chicken livers you get roadside in Thailand are usually topped with a chicken heart.

I have to admit though, the pig's heart (or 'special chicken' as my daughter calls it) wasn't very nice. I'm starting to think that the sausage meet I used for the stuffing could be to blame. I found it at the bottom of the freezer and it could have been there for years. The fat goes bad after a while.

    Maybe I should try again!

Bogon had it right, Snubs. Dil has gone from clueless to genius in the space of a few months.

He's totally hit or miss though and you don't know what you're gonna get. The Andy Cole of the cooking world indeed.

One minute you get the chicken skewers that look like heaven on a plate, the next you get Unidentified Mashed Object with Beans. UMOB. Complete fail in anyone's book.

    Very tasty

    ^^

The acidity of the pickled beetroot goes great with the herring. Was watching Masterchef today, and one of the contestants did pan fried mackerel with pickled rhubarb and a rhubarb puree. Sounds odd but it looked good and apparently tasted great.
